The convoy of Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo was involved in a fatal crash Wednesday night along the Gombe-Yola highway.
The accident reportedly killed one person and left six others wounded.

The convoy was said to be returning to the state
capital after the Governor went on an assessment tour of some projects at Shingom Local Government Area.

Sources say a speeding pickup van lost control and
rammed into a police van and a Peugeot 406 sedan in Dankwambo’s convoy.

It was gathered that the Governor who was in his car at the time of the incident escaped unhurt.

The FG road is a long windy pot-holes ridden single lane road through some of the most hostile terrains of Tangale mountains the country geography can describe. Well, I know Shongom very well, in fact, i was posted to serve at the LG secretariat there originally.

That road is actually a very good road.....it might be time to introduce and enforce speed limits...

The yola - Gombe road is in a good shape now, it was repaired last year. I just came back from yola yesterday.

ow! that's a good news. it used to b very bad way back then, particularly at d sections btw Billiri n Kumo, then Immediately after Kaltungo till u get to Numan, u r just on ur own.

SO I HEARD THAT NAIJA GOVERNORS MEET DURING YAKOWA'S BURIAL AND DECIDED TO AVOID FLIGHTS TILL FURTHER NOTICE. THEY HAVE NO CHOICE LEFT THAN TO GO BACK TO THE ROADS THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR. BUT THE PORTHOLES ON THESE ROADS IS NOW HUNTING THEM. GOD IS STILL TELLING THEM HE IS THE ALMIGHTY.
