Good day Nairalanders, I just want to confirm which ATF fluid is best for My Toyota Camry 2000 Model, because i asked my Mechanic to use Oando ATF, but instead he went ahead to use a new product call Sea horse, he said its good since its dextron 111 product. but somehow am not comfortable with it, even thou its still running the car. House kindly advise on which ATF to use. Thanks

Any reliably branded Dextron III ATF would suffice.

Thanks guy, that means the Sea Horse is ok too then. because its Dextron III ATF. but does it make any sense changing it whenever you are changing your Engine oil too? as in whenever you are servicing your car.

No need to change it except you experience unusual symptoms

I don't think the Toyota camry is suppised to be using a dextron 3. Toyota T-IV is the recommend. I advise you check your manual. Check the Toyota owners thread in the car talk section.

Your Toyota model should be running T-IV Transmission fluid. It's obvious your mechanic used a wrong transmission fluid. I advise you change it ASAP as it could damage your tranny. I believe this product is readily available in reputable car accessory shops in Lagos.
