The System Engineer: is responsible for software development, database administration, desktop troubleshooting and other application support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• SharePoint server installation, customization and workflow development.
• Requirement analysis, design and develop custom application as per user requests.
• Maintain existing in-house developed applications and make necessary improvements.
• Support daily IT/MIS operation, project management and services monitoring.
• Maintain 99.95% availability of Oracle and SQL databases. Develop automated processes for database maintenance activities.
• Designing, implementing and monitoring database functionality to ensure a stable environment for database and applications system.
• Conduct network analyzing and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshooting desktop issues and server related issues.
• Document all application and network changes.
Other tasks assigned by line manager.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• 3 to 5 years experience in Software development, database and system administration.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Oracle, MS SQL and MySql database administration and report generation.
• Minimum 2 years experience in PHP and ASP.net development.
• Experience in Web administration, programming and designing.
• Installing and maintaining MS Windows Server 2003, MS Exchange, Linux Server, Solaris, Application and File Servers will be an advantage.
• Knowledge in standard backup infrastructures, system-level security procedures, disaster recovery and SDLC.
• Knowledge on ITIL or similar IT management system.
• Result oriented and willing to learn new technologies as required.
• Willing to perform work or provide remote support outside of office hours.
• Highly motivated and self initiative.
Must be a team player and be able to priorities different requests and requirements.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

• Minimum 2 years experience in SharePoint administration and design.
• Installing and maintaining MS Windows Server 2003, MS Exchange, Linux Server, Solaris, Application and File Servers.

Educational and Professional Qualification
• BS degree required in Computer Science or related field.
• Certification in database administration will be an advantage.
• Certification in Microsoft System administration will be an advantage.
