The Spirit Of Victor Moses Do you remember the story of a boy who left his house to play football Thinking that brotherhood in his country is all for one, one for all Not knowing that his countrymen's wish for a rising star is for such to fall And like Joseph's brothers in the Bible, they planned before him a deadfall I can imagine him getting home and seeing everywhere scattered Empty cartridges littering the yard and bullet's holes making the walls tattered Blood stain everywhere indicating someone had been brutally battered And then the shock: The corpses of his parents, making his dreams shattered Like the story of the spirit of an orphan wandering in the wonderland At a tender age of 11, he was sentenced to an exile in a faraway land He left the wickedness of the people of his fatherland For the unknown and uncertainty that awaited him in England Eleven years later, the murderers of his parents sought him for a national assignment A sort of rescue mission that they would need him to take up without any sentiment Though for their sins against him they doubted if there could be an atonement Yet they hoped to explore his patriotism and level of commitment Though his parents were murdered in cold blood and sent to heaven Though his fellow countrymen refused to create for him when it mattered most a safe haven Yet he chose to answer the national call instead of making even In a display of true patriotism, i hear his spirit say Nigeria your sins are forgiven -AMBERACIOUS POEMS http://amberacious./2013/02/11/the-spirit-of-victor-moses/ 2 Likes

Written by a friend. BROAD STREET TO IYANA; MOMENTARY TALE OF LIFE This moveable house shall thou be a comfort? I sit with hangover of yesterdays pain today you offer again unfriendly air making the market noise a usual company Is there a better food for the eyes than the drama you present each dusk? Struggles of skirts and trousers as they race to get into another days slavery Siren in this heavy traffic lo and behold the men in black Look ahead a little you don hit my car the man with tribal marks will speak in queens Oshodi is a name I recall and a place I grace with passage Mongoro Cement don't even check your watch Gala and viju bless this supper for Christ's sake Arrive home sober and without words the mind is lost in thoughts another wrestling there is as the dawn breaks on the morrow This tale of life sure is but a moment 1-08-2012(8:20pm) |

I wrote this when they opened Ozone Cinemas in Yaba. Something about the galleria Learnt it has finally come to town Now, someone is thinking . . . It took them this long to perform abi? Glad i don't have to cross a mass of water just to see a movie I could easily get a pirated copy (courtesy of the Alaba stars) and watch in my cosy apartment But i prefer the cinemas where everything is dark while the screen gives the light Screams, terror and awe especially if it's a horror Laughter and giggles if it's romance or comedy I will rather watch a horror movie at the mall than in the comfort of my home. So scary, just like SCREAM Did i hear u say HUSH I love thrillers too I can't forget the thrill of the RETURN OF SUPERMAN or 16th BLOCK ICE AGE was fun with the kids. They kept talking about it on and on. It's been a while sha. I can give anything to get the thrill again Thank God it's now around the corner. |

My Evergreen NAIRALAND I know a land . . . . So far away and yet so close within A land of plenty troubles A land of knowledge A land of different people, race and colour A land full of character assasination A land of mind readers An anonymous land . . . a land where many run their mouth foul Where many display gutter character Where many are vulnerable . . . always a prey for the chauvinistic apes Where many are innocent and defenseless Where many are creative, ambitious and selfless A land full of thoughtless and manner less people A borderless land . . . found only on the World Wide Web Do you know it is a small world? No matter how you think you are anonymous on this land There is someone on this land that knows you Yorubas will say. . . Eefin ni iwa . . . Character is like smoke You may think you have escaped now . . . don’t be too certain What you are today will certainly show up in your face tomorrow Wherever you are, be it far away or near Or be it on Nairaland Please behave yourself. THE WOLF AND THE DRAGON fell in love with a wolf fur as white as snow and eyes as tempting as honey to bear calm and gentle yet fierce when angered she was my pride my joy and my light hair full and intelligence that almost dwarfed mine I always thought her an angel she was one to make me rebel when i see her, my head rings: bells and to my cain, she was an Abel a she wolf who was fast and came to my aid when I needed it we lived on the same street and our parents were friends we promised to be friends to the end she was my best friend my only friend even at that tender age I knew love and all around us saw it her smell still lingers on me but the reaper came for her and she answered his call he came in the night when I was home sleeping he took her and left me cold since then I chose not to love I chose not to be opened I locked myself up and sometimes dreamt that she will be back whenever I hear wolfs howl her face is what I see The she-wolf took my heart and I am still looking for her I know she is up there looking watching smiling the she-wolf of my heart what won't I do to have you back hold your hands and look into those eyes please come back..... it has been 7.5 score years and I still see her draw strenght from her and miss her and love her why is the reaper so hard so wicked so evil you took my she-wolf and left me to the mercy of dogs now her wings sweep in the skies the dragon that resides in my heart now her strength similar to the wolf and her words equal speed are the same but the name changed the she-wolf must have sent her cos I see her in the dragon her smiles her speech and words The reaper left me with a stony heart but the dragon melted it turned it into magma and allowed my love flow causing me to errpt like a volcano I look at the skies and see the wolf i look in the dragon's eyes and I see the wolf the dragon is wolf sent to keep me safe................ 3 Likes |

SHARKS OF THE AIR (I wrote this when i first boarded a plane) Oh not again! This sickening fright of height please Fade away like shadows of an unwanted guest Some thousand feet below This sight of vacuum seems so terrific, a daymare! Thick white smoky-breath envelops me In the belly of the flying shark Swimming through the oceanic sky Oh not again! My frail heart beats faster than a locomotive Cracking a fringe rib craving an escape Now snows of sweats froze me Yet I sat, 'luxuriously uncomfortable' Trying to force a fearful but friendly smile While looking away the steel-fish’s eyes Acting cool, while it swum through the oceanic sky Alas, it made way ashore - I, highly spirited but scared to move, damn not again! |

The Very First Time Hormones coursing through my body, I'm unable to study, Fifteen years old, Seeking a female body. You are my first girl, Our first kiss shared under the town-hall bell, There's nothing I wont do for you, Nothing I wont sell. I say I love you, You say you love me too, Church says God loves us three, But there's something you wont do. Our innocent play turns dirty fast, But still you block my offensive blasts, The question is, Can your resistance really last? Fake ID gets us in a club tonight, All your drinks on me, my little tyke. I'm paying for all your sins tonight, Am I really Christ-like? Drunk on gin and the power of youth, You give in to my demands uncouth You'd love it baby, No lies baby, just pure truth. Clothes come off, Hooray! no more jerking off! The body of a Goddess. Staying calm is tough Kissing and touching Licking and Sucking Carnal young animals Our anatomies hardening Entry. Or lack off. How do I get in. Spread your legs. Wider. Wider. Am I in now? No? No? Arrrrrrgh! Sh1t. I must be in. They say everyone will hurt you But some people are worth suffering for I see pain in your eyes Do I make you sore? I know I promised pleasure but was I really that sure? Was I that naive to think that you'd want more? Then its over quickly Really quickly You say that was rubbish. I look away quickly. It'll be ten years in two days, Since our first time that day, Now we've done it every documented way In almost every single place So on Thursday when the Town bell chimes, Will you remember our very first time? 3 Likes |

Here she comes With that sneer Worn on her face Just once, every year... She's a huntress On a mission She'll be paid Double the commission Should the target be slayed That's the offer Yet, she cares not It's a matter of honour That she dares to plot Beware She's backed up She's supported From angles unimaginable Everywhere, somewhere, nowhere. 'You!' she cries, 'You misuse my power to gather souls by twos, by threes... By countless droves! How could you, with your bow and arrows; how could you do this to me?! Come fight me straight on, with truth and deeds... And not-' (ping) A shot in the dark Therein lies Her opponent: Crafty, clever Master of disguise... She snorts. 'You insult His intelligence, you fraud, you pretender who thinks he's wise but rather s t u p i d!' A sultry voice coos: 'We meet, Agape. Let this battle proceed' 'Hn, the ever changing being thou art Eros, nay... ...Cupid.' 2 Likes |

THE COMA She’s trance-trapped in her own body With sealed lip yelling for help Wondering how she got to the dark side She felt so boring in there Her spirit has been un-snugged to an unknown; There she lay ‘deadless’, yes ‘deadless’! Like a log of wood in the mercies of its creator. Suddenly, she saw sparks of light with her eyes wild shut. She hoped that what she thought she saw must have been a goof Or perhaps flashes from blizzards reverie imaginations Probably as a result of an overdosed procaine- Well, she prayed it remained a thought. But what if it wasn’t, what if she was walked through the light? And she gave up without any brutal effort from her mired state? But the reflection of what would be of her; her fat bank account; and husband Or her kins and kindred spirits made her subconsciousness flutter with a silent sound Then, maddening sensation hits her numbness Feeling the frozen fresh breeze caressing her skin, she mused - Yes! She thought the claws of heaven had caught her (she wished). Or could it be a morgue or perhaps she, readied to be autopsied? She thought of how her tanned skin would be mutilated- A forgotten feast for some hungry maggots to devour… It dawned on her, that she must break mute and squirt an SOS sound A breath, a hiss, or a moan, anything...! Again, she yells, but it was squingy. She felt like succumbing to the deafness of her mute noise And with open arms, she’d welcome her ensnared delirium, a panic from a dream- But she still can’t feel herself nor anything… She’s trance-trapped in her own body With sealed lip yelling for help Wondering how she got to the dark side It just felt so boring in there PS: the light walked through her. |

A Letter To My Unborn Child Dear unborn child, please don't be annoyed nor be mad That I still keep you waiting after all that I have had I'm only waiting to get you the perfect dad In today's world such a search is difficult, its so sad In today's world, men are many but good husbands are few Most of the men around here take women as biscuit to chew They hop from one woman to another having a taste of them all as if women are stew Its really hard to find one who will value one like the morning dew My baby, because you are a precious seed I must watch who comes to plant I must be sure he is not just after my money nor my pant Mum used to tell me that love bug's sting hurts more than that from soldier ant So you see why I must be careful to whom my love I grant Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all men are the same In fact, you will see that your dad is another exception that will put others to shame But I must take caution now while I can, so you don't ascribe to me the blame Of making you a product of another man's heartless and mischievous game My plan is to get you a dad that you will be proud of at home and on street A father, who in your bad moments, reassures you that you are still sweet A father, who when you fall, teaches you how to rise back on your feet Trust me, he is out there looking for me too, and soon we will meet -AMBERACIOUS POEMS http://amberacious./2013/02/07/a-letter-to-my-unborn-child-2/ 1 Like
