catholy: i like ur post, but i ve come to realise anoda issue in dis job search. Some companies consider height during interviews, even if u answer d interview questions well the interviewer wil find a way to dismis u frm d interview spot. Am talking out of experience though they didnt say there reasons bt frm the selection process u need no prophet to tel u their criteria for selection.Lwtmb at this height consideration. If i may ask, u b dwarf? |

jamesbridget13: Am also passing out tomoro. I wld like 2 make it clear that most graduates dont knw what next after NYSC. U need 2 be focused n determined n with God u ll make it no matter ur city of residence. U can imagine some about to pass out corp members without a CV to call ur own till this minute am typing this text while some ve already started attending interviews. When i was applying for jobs online, i recount so many of them laughing n saying ''how many ve called u 4 interview?''. My fellow about to be pushed to d labour mkt tomoro graduates! plsssss be focused n put God first in everything that u do. Wish u all d best out there. It is true that some corps members have no idea of how a CV or Cover letter looks like. Some group of copers even suspend every job search and issues till after the service year. I got to know this through some of my fellow corps members while serving. When I started applying for jobs, preparing for aptitude tests and attending interviews in d early part of my service year, some 'senior corps members' (earlier batches) discouraged and even mocked me. I served in a village and my PPA (Place of Primary Assignment) that was not in any way relevant to my course of study(a professional course). @least twice a week, I travelled to town to browse in a cyber cafe for jobs even with the high cost of living vis a vis my monthly allowance. But with prayers and persistent hardwork, I got a job of my choice few months to the end of service. There is nothing God can not do. Just keep praying, work on your self and develop a positive attitude; there is always a good place for you somewhere in Nigeria irrespective of your current location. |

I concur with that op to some certain level. We must position yourself to where our blessing is.The palm tree will not flourish any where there is no water and the ant will not visit any where there is no sugar. These who have ear let them hear |

Nice Contribution...I will like to share my NYSC experience here. I did my pop 5years ago in the north and now i am currently living in port harcourt. If you graduated with a third class it doesnt really matter, everybody is not destined to be a worker in the office, you can start up a good business and b/4 you know it you are even doing better than people claiming to have a white collar job. My advise to corps members is go into the importation business, wen i started i started with only N10,000,i started small by importing ladies necklaces, watches and bangles and later sell it cheap in Nigeria and now i deal on laptops, phones and so on. You can start importing goods from china with only N10,000 and when when u make profit you den invest big.Do not despise the days of little beginnings. Why not start saving your allowance now..during my time we were not given this much of allowance we were given N9,950, i saved N4,000 everymonth before i could start this business and now i reaping the profit. To start Importing goods from china involves three steps. 1. order your goods 2. Pay through escrow system. 2, Your goods arrives your door step. please visit this website to get more detailed information. The ebook and video in the website will guide you how you will start your importation business just as i did with only N10,000. The website is: www.ImportersGuide.net To your success Ajuwaya... 1 Like

One important thing the OP left out which must not be ignored by all is to acquire a skill (if you have non) in addition to whatever class of degree you graduated with. No matter how little you begin, be sure in no time, you too will employ others rather than waiting endlessly for a job that is scarcely available. **Peace** |

CORPERS SHOULD EQUALLY INVEST THEIR TIME AND MONEY IN THE TELECOMS AND BILLS PAYMENT BUSINESS. The telecommunication industry has proven to be a stable industry regardless of the recession in Nigeria and other countries of the world. Owning a global business in the Telecoms industry happens to be the smartest thing to do. For more information on how to position yourself in the Telecoms industry and earn a potential of N360,000 everyday as people recharge their Mobile phones and pay bills through a unique platform that will be created for you,call/whatsapp 07057322320

I take an exception to number 3,relocation. You can make an impact wherever u are in as much as you have people living there and engaging in one activities or the other. A youth corper or an ex corper can invest their time and energy on Telecoms and Bills payment business.
