Statisticians are well utilized in developed countries and some developing countries in the area of research in business, finance, marketing, agric, medicine, drug development and production, industries, product design and development, etc. In the UK and US, Statistics is one of the sexiest professions today. Why are statisticians not well utilized in nigeria? Why are our businessmen, industries, and govt not making good use of them?

Pls guys let's come together and discuss about this. We have a lot of statisticians in nigeria today but most of them have got no jobs. Those that got jobs work with the civil service mostly where they don't even take statistics serious, and a few work in banks where they are mostly concerned about profit and will never want to spend much money and time on statistical analysis. Nigeria is really killing people's morale.
