Thanks for your effort but you gave a wrong meaning to MICHAEL. MICHAEL MEANS WHO IS LIKE GOD.
Michael is one of the seven archangels in Hebrew tradition and the only one identified as an archangel in the Bible. In the Book of Revelation in the New Testament he is portrayed as the leader of heaven's armies, and thus is considered the patron saint of soldiers. Get That?

kpezi: Thanks for your effort but you gave a wrong meaning to MICHAEL. MICHAEL MEANS WHO IS LIKE GOD.
I think Michael and Micaiah mean the same thing. . . . .they both mean 'who is like God' or 'who is like Yahweh'. . . . .

searchcorp: bros, i think i will just stick to ibo and yoruba names (since i understand both), in fact rather than me reading through everything u wrote in the quest of naming my child, i might just use gemstones like onyx, emerald, tourmaline, diamond... etc (at least they are of great worth). Guy, there is no time for Hebrew classes.....

and yes! u can also use your favorite movie character eg.. django (the d is silent), or Captain Whip Whitaker...
maybe try goodluk for some luk

wirinet: It is good general knowledge to know the meaning of Jewish names, but what of the meaning of our own names. Would it not make better sense to provide the meaning of such name like Osewa, Osotimehin, ikechukwu, chidinma, and thousands of other names our forefathers were called. Why the obsession with Jewish, Arabic, Greek and English names. Do the Jews bother to know the meaning of our own names?
