Two students, Yomi and Favour, 100 Business Administration freshmen in Houdegbe University are on the run. They were earlier today apprehended with a box containing a snake, pictures of fellow students (mostly girls), blood stained cloths amongst other horrid possessions.
Their problems started earlier in the day when a co-tenant in the property where they resided heard weird sounds coming from behind her window. Upon enquiry, she discovered the duo lurking behind her room with a black box in their possession. Having gained knowledge of her presence, the suspects told her they were heading out of town and decided to come say good bye before they left. That would have been all well and fine except this was in the wee hours of the morning and she’d quickly realized that she’d seen them on more than one occasion, lurking behind her room (Apparently, that was their hideout spot for their dreadful possession). The frightened tenant called the attention of the landlady of the property who also apparently lives in the same compound to inform her of her findings.
After a thorough interrogation conducted by the landlady in conjunction with co-tenants of the compound, they contents of their box was revealed to the shock and bewilderment of all present. The mob proceeded to contain the boys who they now suspected to be ritualists and sent for the police or Gendarmerie (as they are known in Cotonou). Before the Gendarmerie made it to the location, the boys had made their escape, leaving a very surprised and stunned crowd who had by now gathered by their hundreds.
The Gendarmerie are now on the lookout for the boys, whom by all accounts, would have probably made it across the border to Nigeria. The mystery for the investigators now is try to uncover what they intended to do with the snake and even more puzzling, what they intended to do with the pictures of their fellow students.
