1) The moon has its owntime zone.
2) The moon encompasses a huge temperature range.
3) There are rules to know the moon's cratersare named.
4) Eclipses are reversed when viewing from the moon.
5) The Earth seen from the moon also goes through phases.
6) A 95% illuminated moon appears half as bright as full moon.
7) There is actually fourkinds of Lunar months.
We see slightly more than half of the moon from the earth.
9) It would take hundredof thousands of moons to equal the brightness of sun.

*It's the gravitational pull of the moon (which is at just the right distance from earth) that has given the earth the stability to rotate on its axis without wobbling.....this has in turn led to a predictable weather pattern every year (seasons) and this is one of the reasons there is advanced life on earth today which -due to favorable weather patterns- has been able to evolve over hundreds of millions of years into what we see today.....so i suppose if not for the moon, we would have all been little more than shapeless amoeba!

*One school of thought has it that: at the beginning of the universe, when our solar system was still volatile and yet to settle down into the peaceful rhythm we see today, the earth had no moon; the moon was a giant rocky mass hurtling through space, that then bashed into earth in one almighty explosion; due to the earths gravitational pull, it decided to hang around ever since and keep us company; and (as i noted earlier) its gravitational pull was the final jigsaw in the puzzle that was needed for the evolution of advanced forms of life to begin.
