1) Address the topic

2) Man created religion. Man can change with or without religion.

3) People are still savages with religion

Justify your argument that man created religion...... Are you an atheist?

unnamed: Justify your argument that man created religion...... Are you an atheist?

Doesnt matter.

All religions are man made. They all have human limits.

Judaism- Jewish religion with a Jewish God that had only Jewish prophets and cared for the nation of isreal
Christianity- Jewish religion with a Jewish man sacrificing himself for the lost sheep of isreal
Islam- Arab religion, which replaced the Jewish religions and then proceeded with an Arab prophet and prayes/quran in Arabic.

Religions like human beings are naturally ethnocentric and never universal

I give up. You really need to read more. Or maybe visit Yemen
Re: Sometimes, The World Will Truly Be Better Off Without God Or Belief In God by unnamed: 1:47pm On Mar 04, 2013
Yemen is not even in the news... just ask your self. Do they do what we do in Jos there? have they done what we did in madalla? There are muslims and christians in Egypt, believe me both in large populations, but together they had a revolution against their corrupt government. Can we do that in Nigeria? Do you ever hear religious crisis between our corrupt leaders?.... Believe it or not the only difference between Nigerians is that between the rich and the poor... since a poor man in Sokoto has the same agony as the poor man in Portharcourt. .... lets unite against our shallow minded leaders who know nothing but to loot.

well its not as u see it.
i agree that most of us don't practice Christianity as we ought to, that doesn't make it a disappointment.
Christianity is the way forward. Take it by bro, don't leave it. The civilization we enjoy today is built on Bible teachings even the freedom of will u enjoy is from the bible, and many more I can't mention. The fact that you don't understand does not make it untrue.
S
Christ is the solution.

Civilization today is not built by christianity

Chrstianity is for people wholive in the 1st century, 2000 years ago.

You can follow christianity and say that you're progressing in the 21st century. Just look how the religion poisons the understanding of evolution. Just look at how chrsitianity teaches sexism- against women

do your home work well logicboy, Christianity brought civilization.

That's no longer a subject of discuss. Its a fact. What about the right to be an atheist like you? The whole of atheism is built on the teachings of Christianity. Bt not to now denial God and his existence. You've taken it too far.

You are wrong sir.

There is no teaching in christianity that was not taught before christianity!

Christianity has caused a lot of bloodshed and slavery. It has continuously hindered the progress of science

Atheism has nothing to do with religion. You need to read.

Furthermore, look up the meaning of "secular" and then look at the top countries in the world to see if they have secular goverments

oga, it really pisses me off when you pretend not to understand and still claim intelligent.so We should go over and over again abi? Detail for detail.

Christianity has not interested with science and will never. The more scientific discoveries are made, the more God reveils himself to us, the better we understand him, the more he appreciates it.

Name the teachings that existed before Christianity. Please and Christianity had never supported slavery.

lastly, where are u driving at with the word "secular" I need more explanation.

Leviticus 25:44
"Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves."

Romans 13:1-5
" 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.
4 For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience."

Titus 3:1,
"Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good."

Titus 2:9
"Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them"

1 Peter 2:18
"Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh."

Col 3:22
"Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord."

1 Cor 7:21-22
"21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don't let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so.
22 For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord's freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ's slave."

Eph 6:5
"Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ."

For an atheist and a free thinker, you are trying too hard to convince others to be atheists. There is no difference between you and a christian fanatic. undecided. As an atheist you should be a fierce supporter of "Live and Let Live"

lol!!
So u quoted all this scriptures just to show that Christianity supported slavery, good 1. Bt how come the church also payed a major role at ending slavery.

In those days, slavery was a norm and the scriptures you provided were meant to maintain peace for both master and slaves. Remember Gods children where also slaves in Egypt.

What i need from you are true scriptures were God ordinarily instructed his children to take and maintain slaves, you atheist will never stop misinterpreting the scripture.
So if you fall into a well and I give you advice on how to sustain your self in the well, pending when I get help, that means I support you being in the well abi?

you see even when you're on the wrong course, God will never let you down.

And what about his first verse? God did not make them take slaves by force, he only cautioned them, since slavery then was a norm. He told them not to look too far when taking slaves.

Evangelical atheists, that's what they are.. Sometimes one can even mistake them for Christians when they're not being illogical. Though that kind of situation is hard to come by.
