The story is yet to be confirmed...but if indeed its true, then its means the government has no plans for the youths of this country.

Imagine a graduate sitting idle for two years in a LGA or teaching in one remote secondary school all in the name of PPA, what becomes of his knowledge after the said time. sad

This Naija eh!
Something that needs to be scraped, they now want to extend it. Totally unfair.
They re just wasting people's time and by the time this corpers are done, organisations will say they are too old.

Not bad... However, the government should place a cap on the experience level demanded in the employment market. Everybody wants 10 years experience, yet nobody wants to employ you to get the experience they need.

Thunder fire whoever that is proposing this thrash. Instead of scrapping the useless exercise they're busy planning to extend it. Fact, reduce the allowance of political office holders by ten percent and channel it to youth dev.you wil see a dramatic improvement in nija

The 1year is a waste, adding another another one year waste to the existing waste.
If that is their plan, then there should be an improvement in the already existing program and not be only teaching which the majority of them are doing so that at the end of the program, they would be counting their experiences and not boredom.

It shouldn't be. Of what use will that be to our youth. Wen the govt gave the rule that no corper must serve in banks or other sophisticated places excepts for schools, LGS and ministries. So, I will now stay in a remote area for 2yrs without good and stable alawee. Heaven forbids. *BATCH B 2013*

Nysc is in dire need of reforms, extending the service period to two years is a no no. Let them post corp members to areas that are relevant to their fields of study to enable them get the much needed experience and their renumeraton should be increased to motivate them.

It should not be implemented even the one year is still considered a waste of time and resources. Never use 9ice as a bouncer.
