PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improve the living standard of Nigerians, saying that with the level of effort being put into the power sector, there would be relatively stable electricity supply in the country by the middle of 2014.
Speaking to a cross section of Nigerians resident in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, on Thursday, he also said the present level of insecurity in the country, as a result of the activities of the radical Islamic religious sect, would brought to an end as he was sure that the terrorists, would be overcome.
He regretted that the impression had been created in the public domain, which suggested that no achievement had been made by government, whereas steady progress was being recorded in various aspects of the nation’s life.
“On our own part, we believe that as a government, we will continue to do what is right. We are yet two years in government and from all indications, we are not going to praise ourselves, but we are moving towards the right direction.
“There are indices, though the Nigerian political environment is so heated up that if you read the papers you will even think that nothing is happening,” he said.
On the the activities of Boko Haram, he conceded that it was a major challenge for government, noting that though such terrorist activities were not peculiar to Nigeria, government would continue to confront it with a view to bringing it to an end.
Earlier, the Nigerian Ambassador in Equatorial Guinea, Sunday Bassey, had called for the strengthening of the Nigerian mission in the country, in view of the Central African’s strategic interest to Nigeria.

Constantly shifting the goal post to suit them. We are almost getting to 2015 and he's still promising stable power supply.
He really learned good from IBB, our own Maradona.

Sorry guys, he meant stable political power just before the election campaigns and jamborees begin. Of course, he trusts Nigerians will forget quickly their sufferings and vote him again, not as the shoeless one, but as the one chosen by God to put the northerners in their place....

Pity no one takes this joker of a president seriously anymore. He'd lost his credibility a long time ago.

Maybe its my ears sometimes, but I though i have heard 1999 before which was changed to 2003 and has been changing since then. I though the same administration said Dec 2012. Oh election is 2015 so they want us to stop thinking while they hoodwink us.

This man is completely lost and can only be revive by sending only him to maiduguri without security personel.
If he sees real leader of Boko, he will regain his lost memory and efficiency. our lawmaker should be more pro active by mandatory it for the president alone to have one on one visit to boko haram in their creek for peace talk.
