The former chief of air staff is a SSC Officer(it was still called ssc then and not DSSC as called now) For ur info SSC can convert to regular combantants.I wonder ow many major generals are in the army in the 1st place wey u dey make noise here. Maj gen is just like an appointment and the presidency must approve it.at that rank u gonna be a GOC or a core commander, so its not beans. There are dssc/ssc brig generals.
