You spend money in any business. The money spent making the movie is part of the investment. That's why you hear the phrase '$100 million at the box office in 1 week', after a blockbuster movie is released.

Usually they make more than 500% ROI on Grade A Hollywood movies, from box office release alone. DVD and syndicated releases (which is what all Nollywood producers bank on) is only a small portion of the projected profits.

The part that drove me nuts was in Casino Royale, when Bond was racing against time in his badass Aston Martin, only to encounter that woman lying tied and gagged in the middle of the road. In an attempt to avoid crushing her, he frantically swerved to the left, only to have the car tumbling and crashing on its back.

It really pisssed me off because it was such a solid ride, dude!

In 'die another day' those lambos/porsches and ferraris that were thrown off that Antonov 124 weren't the real thing (cgi). The muscle car from the 'gone in 60 seconds' movie was a Shelby GT500 (abt 6 replicas were built during filming)...the car frm triple x driven off that bridge was a chevy corvette...dat stunt was real!!! I was impressed by it.

We all know dat! The idea of this thread was to pick movies in which the real things were destroyed. For instance in Eagle eye, a real porsche cayenne GTS was destroyed in the film. Car makers often seek product placement slots in movies and give them free cars to use and abuse as they wish; audi sponsored iRobot,Mitsubishi sponsored 2fast 2furious,Audi did the same for transporter 2&3, Mercedes did dat of 'die hard 5'...we all know abt aston martins/bond flicks. Its common!

D part I find depressing was when junior's toy car was destroyed by their housemaid
