The land of the green-white-green

The flag of the nation representing

Oil and gas very plenty

419 money, deep pockets never empty



Electricity never constant

Generator noise never distant

We’re suffering but smiling

Government policies are beguiling



I love Nigeria, a living contradiction

Rich country, poor people

Thieving politicians with no contrition

While the honest man gets a conviction



Pastors fly private jets in the south

Imams keep sharia in the north

When will a Messiah come forth

And save us from living from hand to mouth
