Following the recent directive of the Inspector General of Police to AIGs and CPs nationwide to arrest and prosecute owners of vehicles whose glasses are tinted, (http://www.npf.gov.ng/news/view-news?id=88) the police in Rivers State commenced the arrest of some motorists who were unfortunate to have driven by their stations. A few who flaunted tinted glass permits had them thrown back at them because the new directive disregards any existing permit. Nigerians are made to suffer untold hardship in the hands of law enforcers. What is the ordinary man on the street expected to do in this circumstance? A friend who was arrested said he saw the DPO of the Olu Obasanjo Police Station drive into the station in his own private car with tinted glasses. When will we get out of this kind of mess? This is happening when we thought the Nigeria Police had move a step in the right direction. So so sad!
