It can be confirmed that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is in consultation with some Northern leaders trying to find a way of granting amnesty for all members of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents who are ready to shealth their sword and embrace peace. As a Nigerian, do you believe amnesty is the solution to the Boko Haram menace? Your comment. |

THE ANSWER IS NO. GIVING BOKO HARAM AN AMNESTY IS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION TO NIGERIAN SECURITY PROBLEMS THAT WILL IN LONG RUN CREATE A BIGGER SECURITY PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE. |

@nabiz,igbanibo,emperor.... I couldn't agree with you more. The Niger-Delta boys had a logical reason at the start of their insurgent but this boko haram is only an ethnocentric issue, a case of plain religious fanatism. The havoc that as been done to lifes and properties in still fresh in the mind of Nigeria. For crying out loud this group as succeeded in rubishing the image of this country in the mud on the international scene; foreign companies no longer feel save investing in this country. Amnesty for the boko haram insurgents just like the Alames pardon will be an injustice. Injustice to perished souls and to the aggrieved, this is really a big mistake. |

If they are given a pardon, it is a prima facie indication that Nigerian lives are worth nothing ![]() |

Good thing the insurgents has even reject the notion of amnesty for themselves, na wa for this Boko Haram people o, but somehow I know that they will reap the fruit of disunity and chaos that they have sown in this nation in the guise of fighting a (un)holy jihad. |
