Re: Billboard Advertisement Rate In Lagos & Ogun State? by Winsome(m): 12:14pm On Apr 15, 2008
it depends on what kind of billboard you want.
standard unipole in lagos is about N9.53m , 96 sheet 4m, rooftop 5m/ bridge panel 7m,etc per face.
depending on what you want and the quality of service.

Am not trying to be controversial, but if it was less than 1million, dont you think there would be more than 1,000 naija guys that can afford to propose comfortably to their wives with a billboard.
Its a control measure as well.

@all
I think babaogun has a valid point there. I believe that if it is cheap, too many people will want to advertise all sort of things. The big shots won't allow that. (for example, I would have save enough to advertise my new blog there instead of relying on Seun's benevolence via Nairaland). Just kidding cheesy

I said N9m for a unipole spectacular and most of you thing am lying.
well am in the industry and i know what am saying.
you can get a board for N430,000 per year depending on the size.
Unipole is the biggest billboard you will see outside.Before now unipole is about 2.5M to 5m in lagos
depending on the quality of board. But since LASAA steoed in, it has increase to about (9M)
for your information 4m of that money goes to lasaa. while 5m is for the agency.

why do you think it's outrageous to put up a billboard for 9.53m.You have to be in it to know what goes on in putting up a billboard. There are other options such as the 48 sheet,lamp post and rooftop. "If you get the money you pick your choice". The local govt don't make it any easier than it gets. wink

Our people starve while this government get richer. We should rise up now and stop this. We can all take over this country and hang Umaru and Goodluck Jonathan. Who's with me lets meet up and do it!

I think most of the people making post are not familiar with outdoor advertising. I work in an ad agency n i can tell u N9 million isn't to much for a billboard. I've seen clients pay all sorts for billboards depending on the site and location (I'm talkin abt N90 million for one billboard).

now i can see that most of the people we have here are just normal working class people(salary earner), we need real investors and business men to tell people whatz going on, How can someone complain of 9million naira for an advert.

9 million is too cheap for a standard billboard advert, some companies budgeted more than 600million naira for advert in 1 year,

The last beach party that was organised at lekki cost over 500 million naira, so tell me, that is just a one day show,

you better shine your eyes and see where money lies,

The world busiest tourist location in London will cost you just from £600 for 2 to 3 years.

£38K will probably last for 100 years.

Nigerian, you people are killing your future entrepreneurs and business minded individual. A bustling city or country must not depend on government to provide public services. Divide the distribution into three parts.

1. The local council
2. Private sector
3. Public sector (The government)

The government should help the private sector by subsidizing service like Billboard advert.

N9.5M, what a chick

tell them oooo!!!!make dem hear.when some countries are looking for ways to reduce the cost of doing business we are justifying an increase here in naija.
Re: Billboard Advertisement Rate In Lagos & Ogun State? by Ialwaysask: 10:21am On May 12, 2008
@sbucareer,

Where in London is £600 to openly advertise?

If you're talking about central london you're looking at a figure of £20, 000/pw look up clear channel and jcdecaux these companies own most of the prime located billboards in london and the UK
Re: Billboard Advertisement Rate In Lagos & Ogun State? by sbucareer(f): 4:26pm On May 16, 2008

@Ialwaysask, thanks for that info. TFL(Transport For London), mini-buses, London Underground, London Buses, Stage Coach, London Central, ARRIVA, BBC, Newspaper, direct marketing (Which is proving more successful these days), telephone marketing, email marketing (The best and most market penetrating solution, 419 take note), etc are all less that £600 per week/month/year.

Billboard, is not the only way. Follow my link and see how much to advertise in central London, remember central London Billboard is controlled by computer. It could have 100,000 adverts running at a time because it is synchronized by software 100,000 * 600 tell us how much you think they make?
