Old Roger is dead and gone to his grave (hmmm haaa gone to his grave)
They planted an apple tree over his head (hmmm haaa over his head)
The apples grew ripe and ready to drop (hmmm haaa ready to drop)
There came a strong wind that blew them all off (hmmm haa blew them all off)
There came an old woman to pick them all up (hmmm haaa pick them all up)
Old Roger got up AND GAVE HER A KNOCK (HMMM HAAA GAVE HER A KNOCK)
Which made the old woman go hippity hop (hmmm haa hippity hop)

ahhh, this was the best rhyme back then, especially the part where it goes "old roger got up and gave her a knock", and we would be panting like children heading to war and chanting "hmmm haaa, gave her a knock"

old times. grin

We also had this song:

In a cottage
In a wood
A little man by the window stood
Saw a rabbit running by
Knocking on the door.
Saying help me help me please
Before the hunter shoots me down
Come little rabbit stay with me
Happy we shall be.

These rhymes are giving me flushes. Feels like reliving childhood allover. The children of nowadays, though they also have their moments, I doubt it will be so much fun compared to what we had in our own time. Anybody remember the MAMSER song? That was one priceless policy

Wow, i really loved the MAMSER Songs for children, infact i had it on tape but eventually lost it
wish i could get it on CD now.i remember one of the verses went like this
"What you make of us, you have made the world of tomorrow.
Show the little ones, what is rght to do and the way to go,
Give us a chance...and take care of little ones"

Into my heart 2x
Come into my my heart lord Jesus
Come in to stay
Come in today
Come into my heart lord Jesus.

Teacher will raise another song.

Some have food but cannot eat
Some can eat but have no food
We have food and we can eat
Glory be to thee oh lord.

(In a loud voice)
BLESS THIS FOOD OH LORD FOR CHRISSAke. AMEN!!!

All these just to eat common biscuit.

This prayer is still our prayer before meal though.
