Scientists on brink of HIV cure Researchers believe that there will be a breakthrough in finding a cure for HIV “within months”. Danish scientists are expecting results that will show that “finding a mass-distributable and affordable cure to HIV is possible”. The move would represent a dramatic step forward in the attempt to find a cure for the virus, which causes Aids. The scientists are currently conducting human trials on their treatment, in the hope of proving that it is effective. It has already been found to work in laboratory tests. The technique involves releasing the HIV virus from “reservoirs” it forms in DNA cells, bringing it to the surface of the cells. Once it comes to the surface, the body’s natural immune system can kill the virus through being boosted by a “vaccine”. In vitro studies — those that use human cells in a laboratory — of the new technique proved so successful that in January, the Danish Research Council awarded the team 12 million Danish kroner (£1.5 million) to pursue their findings in clinical trials with human subjects. 2 Likes |

Good news, though i had began to look at hiv in a positive light, more people using condoms, therefore less unwanted babies. Overall hiv has been a blessing for my country (south Africa ), people were forced to be more open about sex, even children as young as ten are taught at school safe sex, and having one sexual partner. Hopefully people don't think they can go back to being reckless. 5 Likes |

zetdee: I can understand what you meant now. Still, there are less deadly ways to learn to have less children. I think the racist SA government helped encourage the spread of AIDS because they thought it would curb the black population. Even to this day, the majority of the people suffering from it are black. The human race was around for thousands of years before AIDS, and we still managed to get along just fine. If there was anything that encouraged reckless behavior it was probably the destruction of family values when AIDS killed so many parents. 2 Likes |

I hope all this is true. However, keep in mind that the HIV can lay dormant and then "re-activate". Many studies conducted have claimed many were eradicated of the virus only to have it re-develop later. Let's hope for the best.. |

Great job,guys! That is what I called working hard to save humanity. I think we Africans should emulate this kind of way to make life better for all. We should put all our efforts in solving problems than harming ourselves and others. It is time we start to carry out a soul-search plan to do what are required of any human being in carry forward our world for the good of all. Not just pointing accusing fingers while there are a lot of works to be done somewhere somehow about our existence. I laud this program with all enthusiasm.
