Annual Boat Regatta in Rivers state, Nigeria, A colorful boat parade in the South-South region of Nigeria. It's origin and definition comes from history of the people in the south-south region, whose major transportation was by water. They had to transport palm-produce and other locally made goods from the hinter land to the coast, with long canoes with great skills.

While, The 'Dragon Boat Festival' also known as 'Duanwu Festival' is a Chinese traditional and statutory holiday. Recognized as a public holiday in China Mainland in the 1940's and has since been celebrated in Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. It's a very colorful boat parade.

It is amazing how people all over the world are different and yet very similar in so many ways. I discovered a lot of similarities in so many cultures around the world, it is beautiful the way people very far apart can still share a lot in common. Amazing!!!
