Honda halla and golf 3, which is easier to maintain, repair and more durable?

Both are easy to maintain, but from experience and based on the concept of demand and supply, i would give it to Golf 3 as the easier of the two.

One more thing pls, somebody offered me his Honder Halla which he has used for 4year at 250k. i really want to buy it but was considering the maintenance. the owner changed the engine in 2009 as the engine the car came with knocked, but has not gone for body work for once. bellow is more of the car features:

Year 1993

Manual Drive (5 gear Excluding reverse)

15" alloy rim with good tyres

Factory Chilling AC (need to fill in the gas)

Great Speakers with Radio (Not CD)

Fabric seat

Pls what are other things i should ask a mechanic to check for me coz most mechanic are not trusted?

Finally, what are the major problems of most honder halla cars?
