Job description We are looking for Materials Scientists, Polymer Chemists and Analytical Chemists to participate in the expansion of our new China Technology Centre in Songjiang, near to Shanghai, China.
Successful candidates will be employed from Summer 2008 onwards and can expect to be seconded to one of Akzo Nobel's global laboratories in the UK or USA to undertake initial training.
Person requirements We are looking for graduates, postgraduates and post-doctoral level researchers with excellent interpersonal skills as there will be considerable cross-functional collaboration and communication with internal and external customers. You should also be able to demonstrate leadership potential and have good project management skills.
You must be fluent in reading, speaking and writing Mandarin and have competence in the English language to at least level CET-6 (or equivalent).
Degree requirements To be considered for this role, you must have, or expect to obtain by the summer of 2008, an excellent Bachelor's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science or Analytical Science. A PhD or a Master's degree would be an advantage. You should also have experience of conducting research in a university, research institution or industry.
