Unity School Cut Off Mark..Zamfara 2..Anambra 139 (See Full List)

The recent cut off marks released for entrance into Nigeria Unity Schools is raising dust across the country. Northern states are allotted very low cut-off marks for entrance into Federal Unity Colleges, while those in the South are allotted higher cut-off marks by the Federal Ministry of Education’s documents
In the recently published cut off marks, a State like Zamfara State has as little as two (ohh yes 2 points) as cut off points while Anambra has 139 as cut off points.

Students who score above the cut-off are automatically eligible for admission on merit.

The Education ministry advised parents to check the results of their wards which have been posted on notice board of all Unity Colleges throughout the Federation.

These are the full cut off points into Nigeria Unity Schools as published by the Federal Ministry of Education.

Why is Anambra State having the highest cut-off mark? This shows more clearly why some people are crying fowl when promotion is based on merit.

Yes oh, my Coal City is seating pretty in the 3rd spot. I love the fact that south seems bound by merit and it will reside on all those young men and women that they are taken to be of higher intelltual calibre. But by doing this, the stupid unity is fostering disunity by breeding the potential inferiority complex in students. I went to a government school and the brightest students in maths, physics and chemistry were from Borno and Zamfara. Nigerians are universally intelligent this is a stupid, stupid process

With this kind setup, how would our heroes past efforts not be in vain? Some good people down south will be rendered useless just because the mediocre up north want to be accommodated.

Nigeria really has a problem, what sort of educational fraud is this,

If the north are so backwards in education why can't the government set up vocational trainings to at least make them useful in semi skilled labour, this would help facilitate diversification of labour,in agriculture, industries and unskilled services.

But no,
Unqualified students will be allowed admission to courses were they will eventually fail, why thoes who merit such, would be denied.

China adopted vocational training of citizens, not because they lacked the brains but because of their population, and it worked out fine for them.

Nigeria should adopt this too,
Northerners who are qualified for academics should further their studies, thoes who can't should be trained vocationally.shekena

During the 50s when the british recruited nigerians based on merit the igbos dominated and the rest of nigeria became jealous and attacked the igbos

Its not by accident that when igbos are close to power nigeria grows faster and everything works well ...check the records

Lets go back to regional government ,lets see who would be on top

I believe several factors were put in consideration for the cut-off, the cut-off mark from the west is low because of numbers of other public secondary schools available, candidates already spread to other available public and private secondary schools available which relieve pressure on unity schools in the west. Public secondary schools in Oyo alone not to talk of Lagos and Osun or numbers of standard private secondary schools is huge; more pubils applied to other public and private schools which put less pressure on unity secondary schools in the south-west

That of the north is due to low numbers of enrollment to unity schools and being academically disadvantaged

This old 2014 statistics can suggest idea, even though lots must have been changed and more secondary public and private secondary schools must have been created in each state in Nigeria

Story. The gospel truth is that the South West is doing badly in education. Your governors and stakeholders need to sit up and do something about this fall.
In the case of the north, nothing can change their generational educational backwardness. I think it's time the north stop looking for favours through quota system and fully integrate Qur'anic education.
You can't give what you don't have. Rather you breed lazy cheats and those always looking for government handouts. There is need to scrap unity schools in places like Yobe and Zamfara and enforce technologically advance almajiri education.

What is rubbish there or you can't comprehend simple thing? Do the South East has more public secondary schools more than the South West? Do the South East has more private secondary schools than the South West? Many other public and private secondary schools in the West absorb more pubils, which decongest numbers of pubils chosen or applying to unity secondary schools. Also, West has highest numbers of Universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in the country; all these institutions have their own secondary schools where pubils applied to instead of unity schools. All these factors contributed to low cut-off marks in the West because opportunity are evenly distributed in the West. So stop acting like illetrate, do your research well by starting from the link in my first post instead of bragging over nothing. This is a simple mathematics you can do if you open your mind to learn instead of being emotionally sentimental. Igbo dominated what sector of production?

Your fathers were hired as porters to load groundnut and cocoa sack into ships. The reason Igbos thronged to Zungeru was to work on railroad...again as boy boy.

Tell us what jobs you dominated in prior to Azikiwe rewarding you illegally to positions you were not qualified to occupy.

A textbook example of a factor holding Nigeria backward is Quota System! It gives the less qualified undue advantage over the most qualified. What a paradox!
Re: Shocking: Unity School Cut Off Mark..zamfara 2..anambra 139 by SirVintageCock: 5:53am On Aug 23, 2019
This is not surprising at all. The only problem is the fact that the bright products from South were not harnessed by the government due to the abominable quota system they put in place. Which forced this products to channel their energies to negative productions. With the over 80 Nigerians arrested in the USA, if their resources were used to set up EFCC, I doubt politicians / civil servants will have the mind to steal us blind on daily bases.

All Igbo states except ebonyi are sitting pretty good at the top of the table.
Delta too also in the top 5.
This is basically an IQ distribution list given the fact that they are children.

There is no difference between this list and the WAEC statistics.
Cream would always rise to the top.

It is unfortunate through that in Nigerian leadership, cream hardly rises to the top.
It is why Nigeria is where it is today.

lol are you running from the truth or what?
Before civil war igbos dominated primarily all sectors in Nigeria.
In the educational sector
An Igbo was the first VC of Unilag
An Igbo was also the first VC of Ui

Igbos controlled two regions, the Midwest and the Eastern region
Dennis osadebe was the premier of the Midwest region

One third of the military officers were igbos.

You need to set dates of your domination. The person i quoted said under british rule. Thats false.

Under Azikiwe, i already said you were rewarded to offices you didnt qualify for. Are you blind, you didnt see my remark?
