Honestly I'm beginning to wonder if truly MKO would have made a difference if June 12 hadn't been annulled. Yes, it's out-rightly wrong to annul an election adjudged to be the freest and fairest in our land. Would the cabal that made him President have allowed him to function? Would this same system that corrupts every good man that gets into power have allowed him to make any difference? Would the intoxication of power have allowed him to have the masses in his mind?

Hmmmm,How would we know unless we make it happened as we did Jonathan and now his fresh air !!!

But,I know and believed that if such mandate was never denied,it woulda marked a milestone in Nigerian Political reorganisation and re-orientation !!! We woulda been politically matured than what is transpiring today !!! We woulda grown exponentially------!!!

It took us close to ten years to organised another globally certified free and fair election closer to June 12,1993 !!!

Wether Good or Bad,Military Rule has collapsed all our political institutions!!!

Military Rule is the Nigerian Worst Nightmare till today (those retired generals behind the corridor of power) and yes,Buhari inclusive, they shd all let go but be the Security and Developmental BackBone !!!

Yes he would have made a difference and possibly would have arrested the situations that has led to our present predicament
I know he had some very good socialist policies regarding agriculture ,welfare ,infrastructure and industrialisation .
However the most important factor is that he was a nationalist and a real pan Africanist with a strong independent mind.
Every single African leader who has had this trait has either been assassinated by imperialist and their local lackeys or they have been prevented from gaining power even when they win an election or have the superiority in numbers via alliances.
MKO abiola,obafemi awolowo .

MKO was known for being a philanthropist. Apart from that, i don't think he really had an idea of what governance is all about. At least his precedence does not lend credence to that fact.

Is philantrophy a trait that disqualifies one from having a good policy sense?

It doesn't disqualify one but it doesn't qualify one either.

In my Honest opinion it depends on when

If it was straight in 1993 without any incident, i believed There wouldn't have been much different because MKO was a friend on the oligarchs in Nigeria and i think it would simply be business as usual. Just like having a PDP president whom all the Powerbrokers installed

It it was after his term in jail Lets say 1995- 1998, he would be different and Nigeria would be better because he has seen the other side of life and he now knows those he called friends are nothing but just sycophants. and his main supporters are the common people on the streets with a few of the politicians.

He would see that All his circle of friends flocked around him because of his money. Its ironic that the people MKO fought with his riches in the early 80's the UPN/NADECO clique were those who fought for his mandate at a great risk to their lives

After 1996 I believe a lot of the top men didnt even want MKO to rule again because they believed he would rule with a vengeance on the ruling class.

I heard after a while Kingibe his running mate even gave up on the mandate
