Nnamdi Oduamadi described his hat-trick against Tahiti at the Fifa Confederations Cup as 'massive' and says it is the reward of hard work. The goals have also earned him an immediate recall to his parent club AC Milan. "I am very happy. I really worked hard and getting three goals in the Confederations Cup is massive for me," he told KickOffNigeria.com. Oduamadi, on loan to Varese from Milan, was to find out just how massive it was indeed when he discovered that after his second goal, AC Milan president Adriano Galliani called up manager Massimilliano Allegri and directed him to bring the Nigerian back Milan's pre-season training camp. "That's fantastic for me and I want to give glory to God." Oduamadi spent last season on loan at Varese, playing a very good second half of the season after returning from injury, which cost him a spot on Nigeria's Nations Cup squad. But on a night of personal glory, Oduamadi, like the rest of the Nigeria squad felt a tinge of disappointment not only at the numerous missed opportunities, but also at his wrongfully disallowed goal. "I'm a little bit disappointed that we missed so many chances and that the referee cancelled a good goal which I scored. He played fantastically against Tahiti, but the real challenges we face are coming one after the other. Uruguay first, then Spain. We need absolutely fantastic football to win against Spain on Sunday and I hope Oduamadi can lead us to the promised land. Hard work pays all the time. This is the dude that got the first african hat trick in a FIFA tournament and we all ignored it while we got unnecessarily concerned over Tahiti's first ever goal being against us. It takes an Italian soccer mogul to appreciate our players while we run them down. Even fox soccer channel gave great kudos to the eagles (ignore ESPN and BBC, a buncha goat-heads) 27 Likes |

Tahiti may not be a name to reckon with in football, but at least there are teams far worse than them, They had to beat some countries to qualify for the tournament and some of this guys have played before in FIFA underage tournaments, we have to give them credit for that. Back to topic, Many Nigerians were just too daft to see the alertness and composure of this guy called Nnamdi, very quick footed and sharp, That's what caught the eye of the president. I know he will do well in Milan if given the chance and a bit of time. Let's appreciate what we have. Oh ye critics, can u play better than him? If not......... KEEP QUIET. 19 Likes |
