Reminds me of the saying....... When the head is bad, all other parts follows ..... Obviously the present govt of the day does not care about corruption, reason why EFCC ineffectiveness have taken corruption in Nigeria to an olympic height.

Pukkah: Why is the Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics, and Anticorruption silent on this unprecedented ineptitude of EFCC?

The silence is criminal.

Corruption is the root of many evil problems in Nigeria including Boko Haram!

Lol..The Senate? You probably cant find a larger group of corrupt individuals even if you went to a cybercafe in Ilupeju in the early 2000's

EFCC is a toothless bulldog chasing after petty yahoolians instead of arresting the real thieves. Politicians loot our treasury with impunity and EFCC turns a blind, its obvious the organisation itself is riddled with corruption. The last time I heard of EFCC was during the tenure of Ribadu, now i don't even know who's in charge over there. That organisation is so dead period!

djsmoothy: simple thing get international company to be our EFCC i know it sound bad but if a nigerian is still in charge then it's same old story one day they will bend, but get private agency from maybe U.K let the Gov pay them for one yr and fish out bad people and watch how some politician will go to jail, the court will need to be international court and the jail need to be outside of naija this is my own take about EFCC

Bro, u intend d international community to solve ur local problems? Laughable! At first, ur opinion seems sound but 10mins lessons in international politics will open ur inner eyes to see the joke in ur comment, sir.

Well going to thru d midterm report gej graded himself a credit on anticorruptn war.but lets check d chronicles of ds Mediocre orgnztn fares ever since ds govts of yaradua n gej combined forces to plunge d body into confusion.during d regime of obj Ague/ably d best chairperson of d efcc sprang into actn arresting governor's n so on based on galantry in discharging his duties he was doubly promoted frm an acp to an Aig on recomendatn of d police service commission n dt was whn d mans ordeal startd.removed n sent to nipps for a course demoted n subsequently dismissed then retired.today d efcc is a shadow of itself.

ocman: are u justifying fraud?

Honestly, I am not justifying but just saying what is happening in reality. Same thing with our law courts. When a man steals goat or 100 naira, they sentence him to several jail terms within weeks of trial but when it comes to that of our dear politricktians, it is a different ball game.

HARDEYLEKE: lol are u one of doz boiz?

grin cheesy Not at all. I am a legit Engineering professional

The present EFCC is like a poem we recited in my nursery...sing along if you know it: the old roger.
the old roger is dead and gone to his grave, hmm ah gone to his grave
they planted a mango tree over his head, hmm ah over his head
the mangoes grew ripe n ready to drop, hmm ah ready to drop
a high wind came and blew them all off, hmm ah blew them all off
there came an old woman to pick them all up, hmm ah pick them all up
the old roger got up and gave her a knock, hmm ah gave her a knock
this made d old woman hip pappy hop, hmm ah hip pappy hop...
Ladies n gentle moi moi, that is d end of today's tale by nairaland...see u next weekkkkkk....bye aunty!
EFCC died the day Nuru Ribadu left to contest for presidency. if not that he had an ambition, i am 100% sure ribadu wouldnt have made so much impact as head of EFCC then. he used d platform to campaign for his ambition. The fight against corruption in nigeria is politically defined. Thats y we can never win it. The way out is to put in place mechanism that will check embezzlement, power craze n public office abuse. Thats technocrazy...

Efcc died a long time ago; it`s the carcass that remains. Let`s not forget that the same efcc chickened out from arraigning patience jonathan, then bayelsa first lady, after accusing her of laundering over 100 million naira.

I actually dont understand the reason for this post, we all know efcc is dead, the real issue is what can we do about it?? Nothing! Comin here to post ur comments is just a waste of mb. Until we decide to say NO to this govt and match our words with action, till then. All this comments re just for waste.

Where is sincere Nigerian and the likes to sincerely provide us with figures of a vibrant EFCC. When you have them where u want them, they just disappear. Sycophants!
Re: What's Happening To EFCC? by Tunjman(m): 12:04pm On Jun 25, 2013
Simple, EFCC isn't an independent anti-corruption agency rather, it's owned and financed by government of the day...it's hybernation is due to the fact that all corrupt public office holders have not stepped on the toes of the power-that-be. Don't forget that in Nigeria, the only corrupt public office holders are the 'anti-government'

yes correct i know what you mean but i have wasted so much time thinking about this topic and i cant get any solution because any nigerian you but there will later take back hand and if not he or she will get killed but if we have international agency maybe things will work better they will not have access to our money or any other thing also the youth will know what is going on. for example here in U.K we have what we call independent police complaints commission i know it's not an outside agency but at list you know they will check any police corruption or anything bad thing police are doing. let me know what you think am happy to learn from you

When Jonathan said he has a transformation agenda for Nigeria... he meant total transformation from active to inactive, from small-scale corruption to high-level corruption and then the criminals can have a breathev of fresh air. EFCC is DEAD. Not even one conviction since the tenure of Jonathan

@ OP and other Nairalanders openly clamouring and cheering at the alleged 'death' and their perceived ineptitude on the part of the nations anti-corruption agencies, namely- the EFCC, ICPC, CCB, NPF etc. I would rather not join them at the wake keep and candle-lite procession but WOULD openly challenge them to come forward to state their contributions by way of citizen participation by urging them to furnish us here on this thread on Nairaland, the particulars of the genuine corruption related complaints that they have in the past [and would in the future] lodge[d] with these institutions that had and/or were never investigated and the prosecution in court of the named respondents not initiated, they having been found culpable in the course of the dispassionate investigations undertaken. Or alternatively they should volunteer themselves and/or members of their immediate nuclear and extended families who are engaged in various mammoth corrupt acts and financial crimes and associated activities and thus thereby stripping us all dry of the benefits of our common patrimony and LETS SEE IF INDEED THESE AGENCIES ARE DEAD OR ALIVE or THEY CAN BITE IF CHALLENGED as posited by YEZUDO.
I bet them that their lives shall never be the same again once they take up my challenge and go through the alleged disparaging but dispassionately slow investigatory and prosecutorial mills of any of these law enforcement agencies. For starters, they should seek the audience of the following folks notably the erstwhile Senate President, A. Wabara; B. George; V. Ogbulafor; E. Nwude; T. Balogun; C. Ibru; etc, and ask them what their lives have being like with these agencies investigation of their conduct as public officers and/or private citizens and subsequent prosecution and trial in our courts. Please lets' all contribute our little quota in the course of the various battles been waged in the on-going war against corruption in our clime.
