You will have to give more detail if u want reasonable answers.
How did you even know its virus?
What kind of anti-virus are you using?
how old is the laptop? is it one of those old P3 laptops?
Give as much detail as you can.

I do not understand what you mean by 'WELCOME' to any kind of virus despite of already installed antivirus on your computer?

*** I wish you could know how to take snapshot (take picture) mentioned above then it places on NL image attachment for us to look at your problem. It would be helpful to us. ***

1. What is the brand name of antivirus you use- - -McAfee, Norton, AVG, or what?

2. Is your antivirus updated the latest? [IT IS MUST UPDATE PERIODICALLY ALL THE TIME adding new patch in order to protect your anti-virus] There is over one millions viruses spreading without ANTI-VIRUS PROTECTION.

3. Have you click your antivirus manager that is found at your right-corner taskbar icon to prompt new window opening to hit the button: 'QUICK SCAN' to detect any virus being scanning for you? Usually it takes 1 hr or more depend on how much hard disk space you have used.

Oga unleashed, if u go fit give us a clear problem to work with maybe we go fit help you find solution.  I can bet the problem is not your notebook sir but more than likely negligence on your part---failure to keep your virus definitions up-to-date.  Anyway sha, use HijackThis scan your PC and post the text (not an image file) result here so we can see if you even get virus sef.  Note, DO NOT select any file after the scan for HijackThis to fix unless you know exactly what you're doing---just scan and post the text file result here.  Peace!

@ unleashed , i hope your antivirus was not installed by one of those pc village ' computer engineers'

anyway it has all been said

what antivirus are you using?

how often do you update it? - if you don't have an intern connection, you can download updates for every antivirus( with the exception of NOD32) from majorgeeks.com . they regularly provide links to the latest updates for kaspersky, norton, bitdefender, mcafee, f secure, adaware, spybot, etal

I'm just curious to know how that's done without an internet connection sir.  Did you mean using another PC with an internet connection and saving the definition file on a flash drive or floppy?  If that's the case, you still need an internet connection to do that sir.  Peace!

Abeg fashi AVG and use Avira Antivir.  It's free and auto updates almost nearly everyday.  One of the best (if not the best) free A/V software out there.  Avast is good too but this bad boy goes beyond viruses, I'm talking trojans, worms, backdoors and even has a built-in anti-rootkit that searches for any rootkit.  peace!

Avira is good for Home PC but my problem is with the crazy Adverts.

Avast Home Edition is good and usually updates anytime provided that you are connected to the internet.

www.avast.com

Spyware Terminator, a very good one.    www.spywareterminator.com

You may or may not enable its shield.

Malware Byte is also good.

OTHER OPTIONS

Multi Virus Cleaner 2008
http://www.viruskeeper.com/us/mvc.htm

It is not a full fledged Anti Virus but it does a great work.

AVG 8.0 Free

http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download?prd=afe

It is another good Anti Virus.

Advert? Are we talking about the same Antivir?  I think you're mistaken my friend because there are no adverts like you mentioned.  The only thing that pops up every now and then when the auto-update (notice I said auto-update) is running is their pop-up offering you an upgrade to the professional edition---mind you most free software that have upgrade versions do that.  Avast is good like I stated earlier but doesn't do as much as Antivir does.  Now AVG (at least the free version), I wouldn't even recommend to my worst enemy.  Maybe they've gotten better but from my past experience, it's a no-go.  Ok, if you want to talk about annoying popups, Spywareterminator tops the list.  Though it's the only free anti-spyware out there that gives you a real time protection but gosh why in the world is it always trying to do the work of a firewall.  I mean, I already have one installed.  Peace!

Hello bros, the only solution to you pc is to format it and install I a better anti virus.not free edition but the one of 5k upward
Re: My Laptop Catches Virus Fast! by honestmike(m): 8:21am On Sep 01, 2015
I use Windows defender and USB security and I haven't had issues with virus before. Antivirus slows down my pc.
You need to stop visiting shady websites(porn and freebies) if you must visit them do not click on links and ads you see. most of these will link you to download a malware.
When installing a free software you just downloaded make sure you read through all terms and conditions installation guides. And get a USB security app like "smadav"
If you already have virus you should obviously go fix that first.
