So I and wifey have done biometrics yesterday in Lagos.
We are hoping we get our visa quickly cos she is already 32 weeks gone.
Application was done online submitted 7th June.
Ontario is our choice destination.
Let the countdown begin.
Best of luck to all expectant momas in the house.

@Hotstepper your help will be needed I believe.

Tight one that is.... Turnaround around time for Passport to go to them and come back if approved is a week+ time estimate. Decision may not be made till most likely when baby has long arrived, the exception being some stroke of the miraculous. You have a valid US visa? Or have you been to Canada in the last 10 years?

Best of fortune all the same!

Hi, good day, I've been a silent reader,,Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far, please I have a few things I'll want to clarify, I applied for a visa 3 months back and it was approved, currently just found out that I'm pregnant, I had a baby 6 months ago I'm the us via cs, this wasn't planned as I was doing exclusive, now hubby and I have decided to keep the baby and have it in canada, though the visa we got was visiting visa, do i need to visit first bedore going back for birth purposes or can I just go when I'm ready since I don't have a medical visa, one of the reasons who made this decision is the risk involved since I just had a care, kindly advice on the route to take..
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 2:50pm On Jun 13, 2019
Congrats. I think you can just come when you are ready since at the time the time of the application, you were not preggy so now u will use it to kill 2 birds

Since you are working and marrried, why didn't you or your husband include your financial statement- Perhaps reason for Financial Status. Why 4 months?

First mistake. Your mum’s statement of account. Canada frowns on adults sponsoring other adults especially when it’s not your spouse. I was advised by someone who works at the Canadian embassy about this after my first denial when I used my dad’a account. My mum and I applied together and she was approved while mine wasn’t.

If money is not a problem...use the visa once before coming to have your baby. It could just be for a few days, it might make POE easier for you when you come to give birth as you have 'record' of entry and exit.

Lots of airlines will have deals/sales soon...Oct 1st, Canada day sales, Black Friday etc...just look for an affordable deal.

Best of luck and please share your experience when you give birth in Canada!

Should I reapply again?? And apply this time with my husband's account

Someone said something about writing a letter of appeal to the embassy...is it possible?

Don't let anyone deceive you. You better reapply and address concerns raised in your letter of refusal.
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Woafavour: 4:38pm On Jun 15, 2019
Yes reapply and adddress their concern. Use urs or your husband's statement of acc and reduce your lenght of stay.

One major reason people get denied on finances is because you are expected to have about $1000 for every week you plan to stay in canada. This is especially for people who apply using hotel reservations. So if you’re coming for two weeks, make sure your account has an excess of the equivalent $2000 plus accommodation money as well as air fare plus extra for when you come back.

In my opinion, using your mum's statements is the problem. Even if you didn't have much money in your account, you could have at least included yours and that of your spouse especially since its for medical, it's really difficult to convince the VO that your mum will empty her account of 4M to take care of your expenses.
