To search for German Universities offering your programme of choice in English, you can use this link:

University of Hohenheim is very good and one of the best in Agricultural Sciences. They offer a course in Crop Sciences in English. Weihenstephan is also good. However, if you want to major in horticulture, Hohenheim doesn't offer it

North Rhine Westphalia is a very big region with the highest population in Germany and lots of industries. It is a perfect place for engineering students to begin their career and they have some of the most hospitable people you could meet in Germany.

The state of Hesse has lots of industries too, quite notably, the Industrie Park situated in Frankfurt (it's as big as a small village in Nigeria) and would be the dream of any body who studied Chemical Engineering since all the companies situated there are the some of the biggest Chemical Companies in the world. Think BASF, BAYER, SANOFI, CLARIANT and so on. Other than that, Frankfurt is a purely banking and Stock exchange city with gigantic banking buildings.

Berlin does not offer much in terms of industries. It is a town where politicians, secretaries and assistants thrive. Think Abuja.

Other than that, the state of Hamburg is also another huge industrial region with lots of importing and exporting going on.

Bavaria is good (don't know much about it) but I heard that the people dwelling there are some of the most unpleasant people to meet. They even look down on other Germans and have some of tbe most effed up accent you can come across in Germany. Unfortunately they have some of the best looking german girls.

Whatever you do, stay away from East Germany. They hate you and are proud of it.

@ Bandit C, I think the highlighted is factually inaccurate.

Hi ya. You've listed states with emphasis on engineering and tech. What about other industries like banking, accounting, finance houses, e.t.c. Don't such industries thrive in Germany?

@ BANDIT C. HI thanks for your information's regarding life and schooling in germany. i live in Italy and married . i had an HND in marketing and actually i have decided to go back to university here in Italy hoping to study foreign language precisely German in the university but those in the university were i actually want to apply keeps telling me that lecturers are not giving them more attention and you have to study all alone or attend private lectures. i just want to know how difficult learning German could be and do you have any ideal if i could be giving admission from 2yr instead of starting from 1yr.

Note, i would have gone to the university to make inquiries myself but i am still waiting for my school documents which i sent to be legalized. so as soon as my documents are back from Nigeria then i can pursue my admission . i want to get an insight on how easily it could be to get admission and job as well if i finish my studies.

Thanks.

For scholarship in Germany, you can only get it for mostly masters and Phd level, also you can apply right way if you have a research topic, i.e. For phd level, daad.de is where you get all the information regarding scholarship, how to apply, where to sumit your application, where to download the application form, etc can be find on that site.

goto daad.de,choose a course

goto the university website and check their admission requirements and if you meet the requirements, then apply (endeavour to apply to as many schools as possible ).

when you get your admission, go to the embassy and open a German block account, then fund the account with €8000.

Book an interview date with the embassy via their website, after the interview, the visa processing takes about 3weeks ,they will mail you whenever your visa is ready.

If your visa is approved.... you have gat one foot in Germany..
