When a woman conceives, the foetus starts developing in her womb, at this time, the baby is limited to the womb of the mother. She/he eats what the mother takes in. After delivery, breast milk becomes the food. Relatives can also assist in caring for the baby. Yet the mother remains the principal custodian. The child when weaned starts eating solid foods,starts schools, pre kg,kg, primary, secondary and tertiary school ar the case may be. At every point in time, this child is acquiring knowledge and is being prepared for the task of manhood or womanhood.
To the best of my knowledge, its very wrong for a baby girl to be kept under the custody of an elderly opposite sex as most men lack self control. (Someone once said that where you have only a male and a female in a secluded place, Satan becomes the referee) .
At every point in time there is knowledge that the child will acquire that will be of an immense assistance in the future.
Recently, Nigerian upper chamber was handling a bill to force a girl child into an early marriage. Even he it is religiously inclined, WE HAVE DOCTORS AS SENATORS WHO ARE IN A BETTER POSITION TO EDUCATE THE OTHER MEMBERS ON THE HEALTH HAZARDS OF THIS NO THE GIRL CHILD. We have women senators. Even he they cannot handle it effectively, why not get sampled opinion of the girl child (MUSLIMS INCLUSIVE)? Now, the people that were voted to represent and defend the interest, and paid with tax payers money are now enacting a law that is only supposed to operate in the stone age(bill for enslavement of a girl child). The senator that sponsored such law is not supposed to be in the upper house. It is not a crime to be a girl child.
