House boat leasing is a lucrative but relatively unknown business in Nigeria. All oil companies in Nigeria (Shell, Total, Chevron, Saipem etc) lease house boats. Some lease run from a few months at a time to as much as over 10 years at a time.

House boats are leased at prices ranging from N100,000 (one hundred thousand Naira) to over N1,000,000 (One million Naira) daily.

House boats come in different sizes and crew capacity ranging from 30 man house boat to over 300 man house boat.

The plan is to build standard house boats to meet SPDC and Chevron specification.

Features= 14 rooms fully furnished with flat screen televisions and mini refrigerator, a mess, a recreation room with large screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen and store, a medical room, automatic waste disposal unit, two units of 150 KVA generator, two extra mini barges (one for the generators and the other for muster point.

Expected Cost of production= N85m

Expected income= N120k to N150k daily (about N4m monthly)

Maintenance cost monthly= N250k including salary and logistics for maintenance crew (plumbers and electricians).
