This is a joint venuture not a personal importation issue, assignin Items to just one person is crap, we re talkn about importin in large quantities(a container by God's grace) not 2~3 tablets or what...in a JV people come together and contribute both financially n otherwise, everytn is done 2geda not individually. @surveycash lol u will make a good lawyer o, am really impressed with the way ua doin things... i am not against this but am pretty sure you wont participate in this when its time for us to comit i.e contribute money for the procurement.

Nice concept through, but lots of research still need to be carried out to know wat will really move in terms of selling, and also each members has to know their rights and functions in the JV.

Well its not easy, I wish this takes off well but all areas and needed FAQS checked, asked and answered.

I think its also important to look beyond china, them asus, lenovo have cheap tabs too, you cant just limit to china tabs some folks won't just go for it e.g me I won't buy a china tab (no be pride o, kuku never use am before). Don't know why just not for me.

The long run profit shouldn't be the sole or major aim, but the openness, trust and needs that are fulfilled is Number One goal once this is done.

This is what I think:


Four reliable ppl should meet together and discuss various products that move market at the moment...then discuss wiith the seller with a view of purchasing in large quantity. Then the total price can now be share among members who are interested in the that particular products.


Because I might b good in IT and another member strong point might be cloths etc

I will suggest if there's a very good web developer/programmer among us, who can get us a site with forum done, we get a private forum basically for those who are interested consisting of threads on products, marketing....e.t.c. The forum won't be open to all, and will be on a(annual) subscription basis(prob $100). It will be run by selected ogas and the money, am sure will have a need to meet(meeting, transportation, marketing....). The first subscrip(now till january) shld be free for those interested from the mother thread DIYIG only and charges for subsequent ones. We'll keep running the thread(do it urself importa guide) here on nairaland as it has always bn.....and mayb refer people who want to join d JV or whatever is, to the private forum. Now i don't think paying subscription(membership fee) of $100 annually will be too much for someone who wanna go big in this. This of course is just my opinion. It will help keep things in check and attract serious pple.

Then probably at the end of the week the representative tells us the number of interested persons. Product is sourced, amount is divided, we can start with 10000- 20000 naira per slot. That is why I emphasied low cost Items to start with, members are given a week to pay, once the required amount is reached, product is purchased. We can use CVM in purchasing and shipping the product.

All these ideas so far sound wonderful and can be reviewed as we tag along, the point i wish to make is that items should be listed and prospective clients or members will send in their request before purchases are made for them. We also need to involve some big time importers as mentors and some other sincere partners in diaspora whom will buy and ship these items to us or buy directly from confirm sellers abroad. The bigger task ahead is how to make people trust us with their money. I am good in the area of clearing and forwarding and willing to play a part too. We should also be thinking of incorporating the business and getting a lawyer to handle legal aspect as claims can't be ruled out in business of this nature.

I have given them my own piece of mind on this issue ,although I sound harsh or aggressive most of the time but I always say it the way it is.

I have been following the entire thread with keen interest, I totally support this noble idea, am so interested in this venture. Pls count me in.
