Men of the Kaduna State Police Command have arrested 50 youths for allegedly lynching one Kingsley Onu over the alleged disappearance of the manhood of 25-year-old Israel Seth at Jagindi-Tasha, Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

The suspects also allegedly attacked and burnt down a police station in the area before they set ablaze the late Onu’s shop and personal belongings estimated at about N5m.

Parading the suspects before newsmen on Tuesday, the Deputy Commissioner of Police at the command, Mr. Adams Audu, said that the young men, armed with dangerous weapons and led by Seth, invaded the police station where the late Onu was being detained over the matter, forcefully removed him from the cell, killed him, burnt his body to ashes and subsequently set the police station ablaze.

Audu said that the arrested youths had confessed to taking part in the lynching of the suspect and the burning of the police station in the area.

Audu said, “On 19th May, 2008 at about 1600hrs, intelligence report at our disposal revealed that some youths numbering about 50 jointly attacked and attempted to mob one Kingsley Onu, aged 25 years old, for allegedly causing the disappearance of one Israel Seth’s manhood at Jagindi-Tasha, Kafanchan area.

“On receipt of the report, policemen in the area acted swiftly and rescued the suspect. While in police custody and during interrogation, one Israel Seth mobilised youths of the area with dangerous weapons and invaded the police outstation.”

The Northerners with their problems. They rejoice in killing fellow humans. They will later come to you and claim to be believers. Killing a man that has not been proved guilty of any offence (Even if he has been proved guilty, why kill him and not let him judged according to the rules & regulations of the Nation). Well as said by previous posters, it's not a new thing in Nigeria. The question is when will this barbaric act stop? All Mr. Yar'Adua will continue to do is to keep shouting RULE OF LAW till the end of his tenure(s)

It hurts me to say this but you are so right on a lot of levels. Naija's problem is Naija people and the govt is a reflection of how corrupt a lot of us can be.
