God bless u my broda! Nigeria needs more patriots like u not tribal bigots nor sectional warlords / regional hegemonists & supremacists! Naija o'ni baje o!

As a yorubaman, you have said it the way it is with we yorubas. i concur100%, but as for motor park tout what about this ones at upper iweka though obi done give them run due to transformation i saw going on there?

I wonder if nigeria will ever get better with all this comment here. Your comment are disgusting and irritating becaused it does nt add anything to my dear country only to reduce it. SMH!

God bless u, AMEN!
roxell120: every thread depicts vividly y we are not meant to be together as one country. yorubas always speak from both sides of there mouth. igbos shd leave ur land and the next minute ure saying secession is a bad idea when ure already championing it.sw minus lagos is a no mans land.what remains? if interstate migration is a crime then substract lagos yoruba indegenes from the total number of yorubas in lagos and see for urself. what drove them out of osun, ogun, ekiti etc? lagos w location is very important to all nigerians for the following reasons :
1.it shares comon boundary with some west african /anglophone countries

2.it was nigeria capital which attracted a large population especially igbo merchants just like Abuja.those that are business minded know how to explore such oppurtunity
!
3.lagos is a major transit point to countries that we ve strong economic ties accross west african subregion and beyond .
4,its the first point of call for marchants on both land and coastal borders

therefore its not abt yoruba here but nigeria and economic benefits. period

Are you sure? We are just mercantile traders. Nothing more nothing less. We hardly have corporate firms. Only small shops where we sell our wares. The richest among us do importation business and the business does not outlive the inventor or the owner. That is where Yoruba people come in with their knowledge. A Yoruba person can sustain a corporate firm with 5 million naira, and even if he dies, the business lives on. But an Igbo importer's N1Billion business cannot outlive him. The biz dies with him and is buried with him in his grave. Where is the sense in that? Is that what you call entrepreneurship? That's a monument of folly!

The same type of arrogance and tactlessness that is burying Ngige's career is what you are repeating here.

You are a first class liar! Your lies clearly shows that you have never been to Onitsha. Maybe you mistook Ado-Ekiti to be Onitsha. For you to pass through Onitsha en route to Aba, you must have passed through Head bridge to Upper Iweka. Then from Upper Iweka to Owerri through Onitsha-Owerri road. Those roads are in good shape. I'm ashamed that you have to lie to make a point when you have never been to Onitsha.

Since Ngige is so loved by the APC members who see him as a messiah of some sort, can they please present him as their presidential candidate?

Afterall he is 'tested and trusted'.

Ofcourse those APC Islamic terrorists hate him so passionately because they know he is Igbo and Christian. They even think much less of Ngige and Roaches for agreeing to play Judas to betray their people in exchange for political office.

Again, the callous deportations of Igbos from Lagos by Gov. Fashola and Ngige's subsequent approval of such blatant injustice done to his people, have showed that Ngige is merely concerned about his own selfish interest and political office, and thus, cannot be trusted to be his own man nor speak out against injustice meted out to his people.

Therefore, Igbos will rather have a trusted Soludo as governor of Anambra, than hand over the future of Anambra people to savages and the vindictive Yoruba people through Ngige's APC

Ngige has been a governor and still a senator, pls what has he done for the masses? The only thing I know Governor Obi did as an outsider looking in was his audacity to play the ethnic card to cover his failure. What else has he done?
Another election, another 4 years, instead of you people to check each candidates resumes with objective eyes, you are here chasing shadows. Foolish set of people.

tankoemmanuel: Only last month, a very big plaza in Olodi, Apapa, belonging to Igbo entrepreneurs and housing hundreds of Igbo traders was burnt at night. The next day Fashola was at the site and promised to rebuild it at Lagos State’s expense. No Igbo governor has visited the place up to this moment, and none has promised to assist the victims. Last December, Ngozi Nwosu, an actress, was reported to be down with a serious liver ailment, so an appeal fund was launched. No Southeast government, including her home state of Imo State, responded, just as no wealthy Igbo men and women did. Only N1.5 million out of 6 million needed for treatment in the United Kingdom, could be raised. Fashola provided the remaining N4.5 million. And now some so-called Igbo activists are accusing him of anti-Igbo sentiments.

Two months ago, Fashola completed the biggest housing estate he has built and named it for Emeka Anyaoku, an erstwhile Commonwealth secretary general from Anambra State. At a time some Igbo people cannot be hired as teachers or civil servants in South-eastern states, Fashola recruits them in large numbers, with some becoming judges and magistrates. His Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Ben Akabueze, is from the Southeast. The chief executive of the state Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency, Joe Igbokwe, is an engineer and publisher from Nnewi. Mac Duruigbo, from Imo State, is Fashola’s Personal Assistant on the Media.

Fashola gave Ikemba Nnewi practically a state burial last year in Lagos, the only non-Southeast governor to accord the famous Biafran leader this high honour. He was the only governor who attended last March the Chinua Achebe colloquium at Brown University on Rhode Island, United States, where he praised Achebe for his monumental achievements at a time the great writer was the butt of criticism by the Yoruba political establishment following Achebe’s unflattering remarks about Obafemi Awolowo in his new book, There Was A Country, a personal account of the Nigerian civil war. So, how did some of us come about the brainwave that the dynamic and cosmopolitan Lagos State governor is anti-Igbo? Simply because his government relocated some Igbo elements to their home state, some of whom came to Lagos to do business but instead took to hard drug consumption and became urchin, better known as “area boys”! Interestingly when Fashola began to crack down on “area boys”, most of whom are from his state, Igbo traders were over the moon, rejoicing that the governor had saved them from the miscreants of “area boys” who had for decades been tormenting the traders daily, extorting huge sums from them and viciously assailing those who refused with dangerous weapons.

Just read this guy's comment,he is speaking the truth. If Fashola decides nt to employ ibos into his cabinet, there is nothing anyone can do.For God sake, ibo destitutes were d one sent back home which he did inform Gov.Peter Obi.Other tribes including yorubas were also sent home so what is the fuse about.Igbos just like to shy away from the truth bt prefer to hide under sentiments.

me_for_you: First of all, let me say it again, lagos is not yorubaland at all. Except the rural areas of badagry, epe and ikorodu. Lagos was former british colony like hong kong and nigeria's former capital city. Developed largely by igbos and europeans.
And for a state that has capabable politicians like prof soludo and prof akunyili, it is a big insult to say that ngige is the best thing that has happened to anambra.

Lagos is not a yoruba land abi? So its an igbo land.Guy stop deceiving yourself.Has lagos state produced an igbo govenor b4?Lagos(eko),Eyo festival celebrated by the Lagos state govt,Obas of Lagos are they igbos?Ikorodu, yaba, surulere,Agege,Ikoyi, lekki,Ajah,Epe do they sound igbo to you? See your mouth igbos and Europeans developed lagos indeed.its so simple lagos a yoruba land was developed by the white men and bcoz it was the former capital of Nigeria. Now they ve created a new capital city Abuja go and claim its an igbo land. a

Just listen to yourself dude. No Igbo man begs Fashola to be appointed into the cabinet but every serious contender to the office of the governor of Lagos state knows that in any contest for that office between 2 strong and evenly balanced candidates, the Igbo votes would decide the winner. It is in this context that every administration would want to appoint Igbos into their cabinet do as to secure Igbo votes.

You just chill until you have an Igbo deputy governor in Lagos state.

Must you throw uncle Ben under the bus as a token appointee when in fact the man was not only hired based on his credible credentials, but also because he's the best in his line of work as a banker which was what Tinubu saw when he hired him and what Fashola saw when he decided to keep him for 8 more years..

And you people have since upgraded to more serious political game of murder. Check out the stats in this current dispensation;

-------2003, Dr. Ayo Daramola, a PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Ekiti State, and a consultant on Social Protection and HIV/AIDS to the World Bank Country Office in Abuja was murdered in his bedroom at his hometown, Ijan-Ekiti. A nutritionist who recently joined the race, his death is linked to the intra-party crisis, which has thrown up political enemies after the death of the third term agenda in the state. He was stabbed, shot and hacked to death.

------   Engineer Funso Williams, PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Lagos State and chairman, Board of Directors of Nigeria Maritime Authority (NMA) was murdered on July 27, 2006. Police are still investigating this assassination. Forensic experts were invited from London to assist them. The police arrested PDP gubernatorial aspirants in the state and some members of the NMA board. They were held for about three weeks.

-------- On July 16, 2005 unknown gunmen killed Alhaji Lateef (alias Lati Osogbo) a close associate of the strongman of Ibadan politics, Alhaji Lamidi Adebibu, in Ibadan.

--------- Alhaji Sulaimon Olajokun, a Lagos-based businessman and one of the 'financiers' of the group, Oranmiyan was murdered on his way to Lagos from Ile-Ife Osun State, in a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) on May 15, 2005. He was a chieftain of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

---------  On December 23, 2001, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige, was killed inside his bedroom at Ibadan, Oyo State. The police declared one Olugbenga Adebayo, ( a.k.a. Fryo) wanted in connection with the murder. The trial of suspects took many twists and turns; several judges resigned from the case, and Ige's wife died after one of the futile hearings to trace the killers. The Oyo government withdrew the case from the court in 2004.

---------- Mrs. Emily Omope (a.k.a . Thatcher), an AD member, died on March 3, 2003 at the UCH Ibadan after an acid attack in December last year by unknown persons.

--------- Unknown assailants in Lagos killed Dele Arojo a PDP gubernatorial aspirant on November 25, 2002.

--------- On December 19, 2001, Mr. Odunayo Olagbaju, a member of the Osun State House of Assembly, was killed in front of the Moore police station, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

--------- Ahmed Sardauna, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State also fell to the assassin’s bullet in 2003
