Pro-Jang Governors Stop Him From Reading Communiqué

By SaharaReporters, New York

Governors loyal to Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, the chairman of a break-away minority faction of the Nigeria Governors Forum, on Sunday night stopped Mr. Jang from reading the communiqué issued by their group after a meeting in Abuja.

Instead, the governors asked Mr. Jang’s deputy, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, to read the document on their behalf, according to a source within the faction. A helpless Jang looked on as Mr. Mimiko read the communiqué.

SaharaReporters learnt that some of the governors within Mr. Jang’s camp had complained that he was hardly audible whenever he spoke to reporters. They also complained that the Plateau governor lacked charisma and good rapport with the media. “A few of the governors on his side expect him to show the carriage of a man leading other governors,” said a source.

The factional meeting was boycotted by a majority of the governors, who back Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State. Twenty-one out of 36 governors did not attend the meeting and did not send their deputies to represent them.

In reading the faction’s communiqué, Governor Mimiko announced that the splinter group had set up a five-man committee to review their constitution. The committee, which is to be chaired by Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State, has Governors Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Theodore Orji (Abia), Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta) and Mimiko as members.

Rubbish news from a rubbish news media.
When Ameachi called his own meeting we had only 15 governors in attendance. Meaning about 4 governors are indifferent. And again, Jang is currently doing a fourth term as governor. He was military governor of two states and now doing a second term as civilian governor so the junks from Sahara Liars can't fly.

Welcome to the murky water of Nigerian politics, where anything goes! Where a minority number is said to be bigger than a majority number. Where elders behave like kids. Where leaders behave like madmen, dancing naked in public, washing their dirty linen in public. Where there are so many associations already on ground, and many others springing up every now and then, all in the name of Freedom of Association. Here is a sign that this splinter Governors' forum won't last long,no matter how hard they try to make us believe. Imagine, their leader have a poor rapport with the media?! That's just dumb! Now,they want to amend their constitution to suit their flaming ego!

I SEE CHOAS IN THE HORIZON! GOD HELP US.

The reporting is so negative. I see no reason to have a Governors Forum. The Governors should not take up the jobs of National Assembly, they should sit their a.s.s down in their respective states and work. Thieves!

All this NGF struggle is meaningless, it has lost its bearing, they should better resolve and move Nigeria forward. People are hungering, people are homeless, people are jobless, no electricity, no water; they are busy playing ludo to divert the attention of the masses away from the reality.

Why did this baseless gossip make front page? What's the news here? It lacks substance in sense, magnitude and humour. Gov Jang had served as governor in 2 states before Plateau State.
Re: Pro-jang Governors Stop Him From Reading Communiqué by Nobody: 9:19am On Aug 12, 2013
There is no lie that Jonah Jang lacks charisma and is hardly audible. If you've seen him being interviewed, you won't doubt this. But in Nigeria any goes because of the selfishness of those in authority and what Lagbaja would call mumu.rity.
