There's no point saving if you're in debt and the truth is that most people are in one form of debt or the other. Always better to pay off all debt before saving. 2 Likes |

On a regular day, 25% is fine. However, when u earn 18k min wage in Nigeria, and have to spend 500 naira a day for transport only, leaving about 6k behind, the math starts getting a bit fuzzy. 4 Likes |

I save 20 to 25 percent monthly (when my siblings and girlfriend don't ask for assistance)! F**king house rent prevents me from saving even more, 30% monthly for the house rent ! Need to start my house project sef and save me some cost after completion but with demolition here and there in Abuja me no want fall victim ooo!  |

If your goal is to get rich from saving while having an 8-5 job, then you are on a long thing. Saving is a first step, but one must immediately make that money start working for you (investments) once you are able to take on the risks that comes with it. Entrepreneurship is another way to go......SIGHS.....it ain't easy...... I put about 30% in savings and 20% in investments/retirement account 2 Likes |
