I believe that there is some higher power that is unattainable to us and that we cannot understand or explore. I don't know what it is, but I believe it affects our lives. I don't know if it's God or something. Maybe we can't investigate it because it's immeasurable for the human brain. And I do not believe in religion. It has brought too much trouble to humanity. There are many absurdities and contradictions in it. But this is not surprising, because religion was formed by people. That's why I consider myself an agnostic.

If you don't know what it is,how did you know it's a higher power??

If you don't know what it is,how did you know it can't be understood or explored or measured??

Your statements shouldn't have been made.
If you don't know what something is,then you shouldn't describe it with any word.
Actually, something refers to that which has specific limits towards a specific form towards being distinguishable towards something else instead of nothing.
Nothing doesn't refer to anything because nothing doesn't have any specific limit towards whatever specific form.
It's impossible for anything to exist alongside nothing.
The things that exist can't be assigned any number.
The things that exist neither increase nor decrease.
The things that exist can't be quantified.

Did God truly tempt Abraham?

The subject of temptation has been a very bothersome topic over time. It’s mind bugling when you hear people say God is tempting them when certain situations befall them. This makes one wonder if these people truly understand that construct of life or whether they even know what the Bible is saying at any time.

This subject of whether or not God tempted Abraham is a topic that has caused so much argument. Most people claim that it’s written in the Bible that God tempted Abraham so that automatically means that it’s so.

While it’s true that it’s written that God tempted Abraham, it’s important for us to understand what the Bible is saying at any given time so we don’t become fooled by the perception of our mind.

Among the most important statements in the Bible is 1 John 5:20 which states that “we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”

Anyone who reads the above statement to truly know what the Bible is saying will recognize the equivocality in that statement; the son of God has given us understanding that we may know him that’s true. What that equivocally means is that there’s another him that’s not true (false), so the son of God gave us understanding so that we may separate the true from the false.

So if there’s a false God in the Bible then we must try to interpret everything properly even when the Bible says it.

As touching the temptation of Abraham, we must ask ourselves the following questions:
1. Can God tempt a man? James 1:13
2. Is God the tempter? Mathew 4:3
3. Is God ignorant of the heart of man? Jeremiah 17:10

These questions help us streamline our scope to understanding the temptation of Abraham. We know God does not tempt any man so how can God tempt Abraham? God is not the tempter, so how can God do the job of the tempter? Lastly tempting a person is to know their strength and weakness, God already knows the heart of every man so how can he then tempt Abraham to know what he already knew? Should we say God was ignorant of Abraham’s heart?
‭‭
The key to understanding a Abraham’s situation is to compare him to the story of Job. If we compare their stories together then we know it couldn’t have been God who tempted Abraham but Satan.

To fully understand this, we should check the particular verse where Abraham passed the temptation to realize whether it was God who truly spoke to him.

“And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22:12‬

The second part of the verse reveals the truth about Abraham’s temptation. In the verse above, The particular God said “for now I know that thou fearest God”. What that statement means is that the God never knew Abraham’s heart before that time.

What all this means is that God is not He who tempted Abraham because God already knew Abraham’s heart. Like Job’s account Satan argued that Abraham only loved God because God blessed him and gave him a son at his ok’d age, so God told Satan to tempt Abraham to confirm on his own.

Therefore, let no one say God tempted Abraham anymore, let no one say God is tempting them, for God cannot tempt anyone neither has be ever tempted anyone.

For further, read on the particular subject, read the account of Abraham’s temptation in the book of jasher.

Did the Bible actually say the snake in genesis is an animal?

This is a very funny topic to talk about. Most people have different answer to the same thing and this makes knowledge of the truth very porous. A porous knowledge is ignorance just as a porous truth is a lie.

I have listened to varying arguments as touching the snake in genesis and sometimes I just laugh heavily. A religious person claims it’s a snake (animal), while an irreligious person feels superior bc he has realized that snake does not possess the ability to talk. This results to bitter arguments that birth commotions without anyone trying to actually know what the Bible says.

The mystery of the snake has remained unsolved for thousands of years until Jesus came. Varying cultures have misinterpreted this particular event differently and this is why there’s a popular opinion on the subject.

The Egyptians, Babylonians, Persians and many other ancients cultures have different interpretations of the event, the Greek and Romans also have different interpretations. In fact, the snake is still being worshipped by many religious sects without sound knowledge of what the snake is.

Modern people have also joined in the celebration of the snake as we have the medical and pharmaceutical symbols bearing the insignia of the snake.

Before we can even understand what the snake is. It’s important for us to first understand the verse where the snake is talked about in the Bible.

If ask anyone about the snake, they’d certainly say the Bible said it’s an animal, thus making the Bible an unrealistic or a magical book. But we know the Bible is nothing of such so we understand that such people lack basic comprehension of language.

“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. Genesis‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The above statement, like every other statement of the Bible shows that people do not read anything with clear mind. People read but let the already established prejudice created from hearsay cloud their ability to comprehend.

While many claim that the Bible says that the snake was a beast of the field, the Bible didn’t actually say anything of such. In fact, certain translations of the Bible have intentionally added extra words to this particular verse to psychologically align people to the popular o interpretation.

The Bible says “the snake was more subtil than any beast of the field”. This doesn’t in anyway say the snake is a beast of the field but most people automatically misconstrue the statement because of the pagan beliefs that’s already circulated.

I’ll reference the statement for better understanding. It’s like saying an angel is stronger than any man God has made. This doesn’t say an angel is a man. It only says an angel is stronger than any man God made.

If I say God is mightier than any man, I do not infer or imply that God is a man in any way, I only said God mightier than any man.

Therefore, if the Bible says the snake is more subtil than any beast of the field, it’s doesn’t say the snake is a beast of the field. In fact, the Hebrew word that was represented as a snake was never a snake, it’s a diviner or a predictor. It’s something that shoots forth so it’s represented with a name bc a snake shoots forth its tongue.

No where did the Bible actually says it’s an animal, people only read their prejudices into the Bible to establish false and deceptive doctrines against themselves or others. We should all endeavor to learn to see things clearly in the Bible.

Here’s a links to a book that help you see the Bible objectively. The book contains interpretations of biblical information with verifiable facts that can be seen and experienced by anyone. Subjects like time, relativity of time, light, space-time and reality are all discus with the Bible with realistic evidences. The book sets a reader on the path for epiphany. I take it you did not study science past that which was compulsory.

My issue with what you've written here is that you have pitted science, as in, the use of the senses to assess phenomena, against religion which you seem to imply is Biblical and must merely be believed,a and this despite Christ teaching "become a scientist". Or do you not understand that "the eye is the lamp of the body" means use your senses to do thescience, instead of just ignorantly believing what you read but might not even fully understand?

Wiki does a good one on it. You'd find it means focus on God, which is not the same as focus on your religious belief, especially once you understand God has no particular image you can focus on apart from the human beings (neighbours and enemies) created in God's very Image, which is the focus of Christ.

Please feel free to open a thread to educate buda or learn. Your choice.

Hello Mr. Buda, I can see you base your knowledge on what you find on wiki and do not endeavor to do a personal research. That’s ok, most people don’t actually try to discover life, they only rely on what other people tell them it is and this is why they’re easily deceived.

I do not blame you though, I only recognize that you’ve acted like most people on earth will do which is quite understandable.

I also appreciate that you’re willing to learn which is a good thing. Learning is how we grow in life. Without the ability to learn, a soul becomes unrepentant bc it does the same thing over and over the same way without the ability to apply new techniques learnt. Such is a sick soul and is said to be affected by the disease of life.

That said, the word single as used there doesn’t say you should focus on a religious belief but you can keep focusing on ur religious beliefs if you want. That’s a decision you have to make on your own

Single as used in that particular verse means uninfluenced, unique, honest, unbroken, distinguish, detached, discrete, free, freestanding. I’ll explain now.

Life is a place of influence, no one is actually born bad, we all get corrupted by lust that develops in our heart. That lust is as a result of influences of things of this world on our consciousness. Character and habits are developed through influences and such influence starts right from our family. There’s no one born a thief or a rapist, fornicator or something, these things happen bc of influence of the world on our consciousness. So Jesus is telling you that an eye that’s uninfluenced sees life clearly, devoid of the deception of this world.

You have other words like unique telling us that each of us was made unique but the diffusion of the consciousness created by influence of this world has polluted our uniqueness.

Honest. A honest person is a truthful person and such person is a person whose response isn’t influenced by fear of consequences of telling the truth. He tells the truth without influence.

An unbroken person is the person whose identity is unbroken by influence of this world.

If you continue to see the light of this world, you’ll see that the problem of life is caused by people’s attachments to things, be detached and be focused on knowing the truth of life and you’ll see that everything becomes clearer to you. The truth appears to the one who isn’t under influence.

This has nothing to do with religion. Religion is just a human creation and full of the same influences. Jesus is telling you to avoid such influences. That’s why he also told us to walk in the narrow way. If you check on the word narrow, you’ll see that it holds the same value as the word single. Jesus didn’t come to tell you to belief in a religion which is why he acted against the religion of his own time, Jesus came to tell us to avoid influences, for influences shield us from seeing the truth standing before our eyes. Education, arts, news, science, religion, etc. all this are just ways the world influences our consciousness of things. Be above them all and you’ll see life for what it truly is.

I also use this medium to introduce my publication to you. It’s titled the science of God and life. If you have a little token to spare and the time to read and explore what life is, get a copy at the link below. It’s more packed than anything you’ve ever seen. I won’t say much, you can check for yourself. ❤️❤️❤️

Religion, isnt necessarily faith or belief.

Religion actually is a way of life, a lifestyle, a devotion to a particular, interest. For example, fashion to the fashionista is a religion. Football to Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Man City, Tottenham, Leeds United, etc die hard season ticket holders fans is a religion, Atheism, Agnosticism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, ATR etc are each to their adherents religions, however, one pure and true religion surpasses them all, and its a religion that has no flaws in and one such that God finds no fault with.

You see pure and true religion doesnt exhibit intolerance, bigotry, discrimination, harassment, marginalisation, oppression, bullying, bad conduct, hostility, monstrous behaviour etc

This is spiteful but I understand. Most Africans don’t like when one of them is telling them the truth. They’re slaves mentally and they need a white man to tell them what life is. A prophet is not regarded in his own town.

I understand you’re bearing grudges against me but it’s ok. It’s understandable and I expect that from you.

If I published my own book and trying to create awareness for it, how does that invalidate my researches? I know people like you love the popular opinion. Well, I have done my own independent research and my findings are verifiable by even you.

I’ll ask that you look past that grudges and get a copy of my book if you can afford it. Read it and see if you can will see reasoning in my findings. Sorry, DavidAO, but the mere fact that you do not seem to realise that Jesus was a scientist who's entire teachings were, 'use your God given senses to understand the world you might be spending three score and ten in', is enough to put me off your book, because if you do not use your senses to study and understand your neighbours and your enemies, to say the least, you might find it difficult to love them, and you definitely will find it impossible to "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth", and be blessed if you are anti-use your God given senses, which is what science is!

The thing is in, right up to the 19th century, the word mouse, understandably, was known to mean a small rodent with pointing nose, but over the passage of time, the meaning of the word mouse has change to mean a navigation device used to move around the computer screen. It is not a real mouse in the true sense of the word, so it is with religion. Religion in the true sense of the word has to do with a dedicated devotion to showing empathy and/or giving compassion
