That's true! Reputable fastfoods don't wash their chicken or atleast the one I worked with for over 3yrs don't wash their chicken.But in rare cases in which it has a fowl smell,they wash using vinegar.And it took me a while b4 I can actually eat their chicken (pls don't ask me d name of d fastfood)

That piece about not washing your chicken before cooking is meant for the Western world or at least to people that buy pre-packaged and processed chicken popularly referred to in Nigeria as “AGRIC”.

The researcher/s are used to people buying their chicken from a supermarket and are not familiar with the fact that some people actually buy or raise their chicken for consumption and they do kill and process this chicken by themselves. There is a gap between practice and reality of what some people in the Western world perceives of the rest of the world. Hence the conclusion that you do not need to wash the chicken (which has been processed already) before cooking it.

If you raise, buy and kill your chicken, which is very common in Nigeria and other parts of the world; of course the chicken need to be washed before cooking. This is common sense.
