FG AND ASUU; In The Interest Of Federal University Or State University? by makkosky(m): 12:28am On Sep 06, 2013
The ongoing strike embarked by the academic staff union of university on the 2nd of july 2013 was as a result of the non implementation of the agreement signed by the federal government Of Nigeria in the Memorandum of Understanding in 2012....

The agreement in brief was on the issue of decay infrastructural facilities in the universities, the issue of earned allowances, retirement age of professor etc.....

Due to the on-going strike, the federal government has finally released a sum of 30billion naira on the issue of earned allowances and an additional sum of 100billion naira on infrastructural development of universities in nigeria....

If we remember that the strike is at the receiving end of federal universities because the chairman of the NEEDs committee made it clearer that both the 100billion released and the additional 30billion has been shared between the federal universities......

Therefore, i conclude that the academic staff of state university should return to their various schools becuase they have nothing to benefir from this..... And likewise, the state university student has no benefit from this strike
