It would be interesting to know if the 20,000 MW they promise is CAPACITY (i.e.theoretical figure) or ACTUAL generation.

The two have never been even near the same in Nigeria. In 2008 the country had a capacity of 6862 MW but the ACTUAL generation was only 2779, about 40%. The rest was never generated due to poor maintenance and failure or infrastructure.

Any increase in CAPACITY must be matched by an improvement in the distribution network. This will be expensive but electricity generation by Generators adds about 25% to the cost of industrial enterprises so this is well worth doing.

Wen ds gvt promises or gvs us 2500mw,dey later on come out n say our power supply has dropd to 2200mw. Den anoda yr dey promise 8000mw, inwhch later on afta fulfilin their promise, come out and say power has dropd to 7500mw. They take us two steps forward n then take us six steps backward.
