An international hotel franchise chain, Best Western Hotels, will soon debut in Osogbo, the capital of the State of Osun.
A statement by the Project Team Manager, Mr. Lanre Bakare, stated that the 4-star hotel, located opposite Central Bank building and the Government Secretariat, Abere, will compliment efforts by the governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to make the state an investment and tourism hub.

To be managed by Best Western, the 4-star hotel, which will boast of 105 exotic rooms, conference hall, swimming pool and world-class gulf course, is estimated to gulp N2.5billion upon completion, while it is expected to be the best in Osun and its environs.
To be financed by Keynes Private Equity, the hotel, which sits on about three hectares of land, is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Bakare noted that the coming of the hotel will be a major boost to the state government’s economic transformation agenda.
Besides generating employment opportunities, he said, the hotel would attract tourists with positive multiplier effects on the state’s finances.
He then commended the governor for providing conducive climate for private investments to thrive, saying if the tempo is sustained, the state will soon be the industrial hub of the South-West region.

Indeed. The State is in good hands with Aregbesola and Osun can easily be one of the most drastically transformed States in Nigeria by the time Ogbeni Rauf is done.

Correct. Although I noticed a very good improvement in the studio settings and their presentation of recent, they still truly have to work on their programs and contents.

Extremely important. It shows the leadership is competent. If you asked me, I would say making people believe in the government is even more important than building infrastructure.

No surprises here, I have always known Osun is in good hands.

Oh my goodness! The SW will cause an entire mass suicide of S"ibO"ME people at this unstoppable, giant pace they are moving! I know Best Western and they are a solid hotel chain in North America and are already in Nigeria actually! See http://www.bestwestern.com/reservations/hotels/directory.asp. Osun State is really stepping up under Governor Aregbeshola and with his good policies raking in investments, it is just a matter of time before Osun State becomes strong enough to form a major economic block and an integral part of the SW region of Nigeria.

Interestingly, a long history and record of the best administrators in Nigeria are being lined up and it seems the Yoruba SW is churning them out at a pace unmatched by any other part of the country: Premier of the Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Governors Jakande, Tinubu, Fashola, Amosu and Aregbesola. Very nice indeed! I only want Oyo State to do a lot more, it should be kneck and kneck in healthy competition with Lagos and besting Ogun State! More, more, more and kudos for that which you have done so far!

You are pathetic !! You clearly tried to discredit the project and this climbdown only makes you look even more pitiful. Your original utterance leaves no one in doubt that you do not wish " Goodluck to the project and the good people of Osun".

Learn to face your task of licking GEJ's azz and inventing propaganda about fictitious achievement. With the SW, the opposition that ousted the PDP is completely about delivering tangible progress and development everyone can see and feel.

Unlike the fraud about "performance" image launderers like you uphold daily about GEJ and the PDP on the internet.

Be ni. It just shows you the 'bad mind' some operate with when they read the title of a thread and begin automatically making negative utterances which shows they have not read the content and only speak because of clannish devotion to one thing/person or the other.

Oshun is a rural, timid and local state. Who is gonna lodge in the hotel? Is it the poor people of oshun who cannot afford three square meals? Or who visits oshun if not same yeroba people? The clown should just focus on cocoa farming and stop wasting his time on white elephant projects that cannot bring returns on investment in such a poor state as oshun.

2.5 billion for a 4-star hotel? Even if its just gonna be only 20 rooms, that amount can't build, equip and furnish a 3-star hotel let alone a 4-hotel .

Inability to read and comprehend basic English words at your tired and old age is very very disheartening.

You are obviously a sad byproduct of your Aso Rock master's bankrupt education system.

Bury your miserable head in shame sometimes..

Indeed. This is why he is here claiming to be a "medical doctor" on "sabbatical" while his ignorant and uneducated utterances leaves no one in doubt that he is, at best, a Village herbalist. What a clown.

Currently Leisure Spring is the best hotel in the state and I enjoyed my stay there when I travelled to Oshogbo last year for a wedding

This new development is not unexpected considering the increased economic activity in the state making it one of the states with the highest GDPs for 2012 in southern Nigeria excluding Lagos and Oyo

Currently it's IGR stands at N1.6bn monthly making it top four in terms of IGR in Nigeria

Aregbesola has proven that governance is only about a desire to do good and things will fall in place

God bless Osun State

God bless Yorubaland

Cocoa farmers and Cocoa mongers should find good accomodation over there. After exporting termites infested cocao via O-Ghost Airport, a night at the hotel before heading back to the bush cocoa villages wouldn't be too bad.

Back to topic...

So, we have Radisson building a 5 STAR hotel with golf course in Osun, now the Best Western is complementing that with theirs..

Ogbeni is is ne heck of a public administrator...

He go the Agric thing on lock

He's pursuing IT and high-tech relentlessly

Bow he's attacking tourism and related infrastructures to the "T" ..

I know Ogbeni is a trained engineer, but the way he's putting everything together like jigsaw puzzle in Osun is breathtaking.
