One thing about Abuja that makes it stand out readily from most Nigerian Cities is how easy it is to spot a supermarket in town. Almost every neighbourhood has a super market and we don’t mean corner shops where household provisions are sold but large sized super markets that stock a large range of consumables including; electronics, household gadgets, edibles, clothing to mention a few. We’ve taken time to note some very popular supermarkets in Abuja and here’s our list:

212 Super Market (Usuma Street, Maitama District)

This is one of those supermarkets that seems designed for diplomats and Nigerians of the higher income class especially Ministers, Ambassadors to mention a few. That explains why things are expensively priced at this store but you won’t be disappointed by their rich selection of high quality groceries mostly imported of course. They a small parking space and are strict with its usage ensuring only customers use them they open 12 noon till 10 pm daily.

Sahad Stores (Area 11 and Central Area)

Sahad Stores is one of Abuja’s oldest big supermarkets. This is perhaps Abuja’s biggest wholly owned Nigerian Supermarket if we take into account its two branches which are very large. There’s hardly anything under the sun you can’t find in this supermarket. The supermarket is relatively cheaper than most of those on this list. Parking space is a little inadequate and there’s always traffic around the supermarket area.

Shop Rite Abuja (Apo District)

Like its counterparts in Lagos, Enugu and Port Harcourt, the Abuja Shop rite is very large with a large parking space and an everyman’s delight. If you hop into shop rite to buy anything and can’t find it, there’s a good chance that no other super market in Abuja has it.

Dunes Super Market (Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Maitama)

This is another upscale supermarket targeting high end Abuja folks especially the expatriate community as the supermarket is short on made in Nigeria products as all items on sale are imported and of course above average market price. There’s more than enough parking space within the exclusive Dunes Plaza for shoppers.

Next SuperMarket (Mabuchi District)

By Land Area covered this is Abuja’s largest super market on Ahmadu Bello way just after the bridge linking Wuse 2 to Kado district and Gwarinpa. Like Shop Rite the super market is richly stocked and affordable.

Exclusive Stores (Wuse 2)

This is a very popular super market in Wuse 2 that stands on three floors with a basement area. The Super Market is every inch a modern world class shopping Mall and it’s a shoppers delight any day. There’s also a restaurant and a café located within the stores.

Park N Shop (Wuse 2)

This is another very popular super market located a few blocks away from the popular banex plaza but our problem with this supermarket is its steep price for most of its items as it’s one of the most expensive super markets in Abuja. There’s ample parking space but in our

Classic Super Market

This is a new entrant among those on this list. Located on the busy and popular Gana Street the SuperMarket is very impressive with well stocked items but the price is slightly more expensive perhaps due to its location in an upscale part of Abuja.

Revealed: WHERE IS THE CHEAPEST PLACE TO BUY FRESH FOOD ITEMS IN ABUJA.

It is not Wuse Market, it is not Garki Int. Market, No, it is not Karimo Market. Wrong again, it is not Nyanya market and it is definitely not Utako market.

The right answer is Belle.ng. Yes, that's right and surprisingly so. Take for instance, this Belle Full Indomie Noodles costs about #200 - #250 in other markets, but it is sold for as low as #130 here https://belle.ng/indomie-instant-noodles-belle-full-chicken-flavour . This giant snails costs between #450-#550 each in Wuse Market. Get it for just #199 on Belle.ng here
https://belle.ng/giant-snail-1-big-size .
This crate of eggs goes for between #1100-#1300 elswhere, get it for just #890 here https://belle.ng/egg-crate-of-30. This big, live catfish sells for #1300 elsewhere but buy it for just #700 here https://belle.ng/cat-fish-cut.

This Smoked Goat Head costs between #900-#1500 in other markets. Get it as low as #600 only on Belle.ng here https://belle.ng/goat-head-smoked.

There are more exciting offers in store. Enjoy the tour and please, don't fail to share this good news with your yard people.
