Bankers in the house pls kindly educate me about opening a fixed deposit account.I need to know if an individual that hasn't got a company yet can open the accnt, and the minimum amount of money required as well as interest rate.i equally want to know other viable investment options available in banks. Is it still profitable to invest in banks' shares? Thanks as you respond.

Yes you can open a fixed deposit account. Ask your bank for the minimum usually around 100k.

Rates differs from each bank.
There are 3 months 6 months or even 12 months.

Fixed deposit is a good investment when you have a lot of money since the interest are usually around 10% per annun.

I would advise go for treasury bills
