THE COLLOSSAL FALL- Anthony Silvestre

Once among servants he stood tall,
highest ranked among peers,loyal to a fault,
Ever at the King's service,bidding yes to his call,
who would have known that he would be first to rot?
The seed of vain glory sown,and so he took a fall
The prince and princess white as snow,
Beaming brighter than the sun's ray,
A sly visitor now in town,
Bent on luring them to a path of decay,
Their naivety and innocence his prey to devour,
At first trial he had them fooled,
Aided by curiousity and ignorance,
They tasted d forbidden food,
perpetual joy thrown in the dustbin in a glance,
The king bewildered,shook in fury,
Layin for eternity,animosity curse on the crew,
judgement passed,on their face the look of sorry,
exiled amidst heavenly chant and boo,
to never return to this domiciliary,
A servant once held in high regard,
But he stumbled just like the russian Czars,
Wallowing in foolish wisdom,must have been mad
Perhaps it is his fate to rot behind bars.
