National Dialogue: Who Should Attend? by kinharold(m): 10:12pm On Oct 28, 2013 |
The call for a Sovereign National Conference (SNC) has been on for a very long time, coming from different quarters. We are now at the verge of having a national conference/dialogue, whether sovereign or not is a different topic for a different thread. The issue now is; who & who is going to dialogue; who will be participating in or be represented @ the conference/dialogue? FG has a committee on that but let’s have your own advice. APC as a political party has said it will not be part of the conference (even when nobody has invited the party or is there any sign that the party will be invited). Who should participate in or be represented @ the conference/dialogue? Let’s have your own opinion. |

In mine own candid opinion, I would prefer the people's vote to nominate 3 representatives per State to be their eyes at the Conference. Off records: I want Nigeria to do away with this wasteful Presidential System of Government we inherited from the visionless regime of the Murtala/Obasanjo 1979 drafted Constitution! Regionalism is our surest best from a referendum driven Sovereign National Conference! |

Regionalism will not work in Nigeria. How can you possibly group the Middlebelt Christians and Muslims who are always at each others' neck in one regional entity? The best option is to split each region/geopolitical zone into two states, that is, 12 states plus the FCT. 1 Like |

tomakint:It won't work. The middlebelt or north central is a microcosm of Nigeria. The best thing to do is to separate the Christians from the Muslims in that region; and that can only work with the two-states-per-region formula. |
