Nigeria Vs Ethiopia Preview
Competition - WC Qualification
Africa
Date -16 November2013
Kick-off-16:00 (4:00pm)
On aggregate - 2-1
Venue - U.J. Esuene
Stadium (Calabar)

Nigeria will be looking to seal their place at next year's World Cup when they entertain Ethiopia on Saturday.

The Africa Cup of Nations holders are
within touching distance of Brazil 2014 after Emmanuel Emenike's double gave them a 2-1 win in the first leg of their play-off tie at the Addis Ababa Stadium on October 13.

Behailu Assefa had given Ethiopia the
lead in that game with his first
international goal, but Fenerbahce
forward Emenike bagged a brace inside the last 25 minutes - including a last-minute penalty - to put Nigeria firmly in control.

However, despite Stephen Keshi's side
being in a commanding position heading into the second leg in Calabar, Emenike is anticipating a difficult match.

"The game in Calabar will be tougher for us than the one in Addis Ababa. We have to be careful and get ready for another big business in Calabar," he told Fifa.com.

"Ethiopia are very good and they will be coming here with more tricks. So, we shouldn't see the first victory as the end of road."

The hosts will be without injured pair
Nosa Igiebor and Uche Nwofor, but
Kenneth Omeruo, Reuben Gabriel and
Bright Dike have all been called up by
Keshi.

Ethiopia, meanwhile, will welcome back star striker Getaneh Kebede, who has scored four goals in qualifying so far.

The 21-year-old missed the first leg due to a knee injury but his return is sure to be welcomed by Ethiopia boss Sewnet Bishaw.

If Nigeria avoids defeat (duh), they would extend their unbeaten run in home competitive games to 63 consecutive matches.
The last time the Super eagles lost a competitive match at home was in 1981: a loss to Algeria in Lagos in a WCQ.

That game is technically regarded as a draw, since it ended in a penalty shootout.

This is what Ethiopians think
Emmysteve: Good Job coach!!You are just two weeks away to retaliate the chickens and silence their fans.2-1 is a narrow margin. I know we can turn this around and shine in Rio with our Barca style play and our beautiful national color. Those chickens and their ugly fans won't deserve to go to Rio. Rio is only for those who play beautiful soccer and good looking people, not for a full time scammers, corrupts and oil diggers. Ethiopia 2-Oil Diggers-Scammers 0,come the 16th. UP ETHIOPIA ,!!

I dont think those lossers hv given up
Emmysteve: Hey Nigerians, what is all these fear? why cant be respectful, you have the afcon champion team. Be proud for that. But also accept that the Black Lions have played and were better than the super eagles in the first leg. Also be happy for wining the game you didnt deserve to. And from what I can see you are just in a denial which this unreasonable pride is going to humiliate you badly at last. Believe me from recent records, the Black lions are doing well when they first experience a loss. They are going to be a nightmare for the super eagles. By that time you will wish you had given us the respect we deserve from the begining.

E dey pain dem say we don start to prepare for world cup aready; Nig vs Italy
Emmysteve: I hope Waliya silence the Nigerian funs. Both the team and the funs are so cocky. It will be the best thing for our continent if Nigeria never make it to World Cup. We will be seeing WC 2010 all over again. I believe God always teach the arrogant. The nigerian coach is the only coach that actually sets up a friendly much with Italy for WC that he has not qualifyed (so arrogant !). Go Waliya, Go Ghana!!

This is one of the reasons we must deal with those losser in Calabar
Emmysteve: @deo what made you think Nigeria qualified? Even Ghanians don't talk the way you guys do The score was only 2:1! It was not 6:1! If 2:0 or 3:2 will allow Ethiopia advance. Anything is possible. We all know at the moment, Nigeria is good only on paper! So keep your arrogance and Waite for November 16.

Emmysteve: @DEO, The entire world knows that Nigeria won that game because of that monkey Cameroonian ref. The disallowed clear goal and the denied penalty are just a few unfair calls made by your monkey brother, the Cameroonian ref. I am sure we would convincingly beat your chickens if we don't experience another unfair monkey affair in Calabar. Then you would watch the game from the comfort of your oil digging site, not RIO.

I learnt that the match commissioner is Moucharafou Anjorin.
That name Anjorin is a Nigerian name.
He is a yoruba man.
