That is just Nigeria mentality. Just move your stuffs into the house and forget about it.
When I was roofing my house, my people told me I have to prepare foods and make like a party at the site for everyone to enjoy and pray for me, I asked my brother why do I need anyone to pray for me? I have prayed enough for myself. They told me I have been living in Oyinbo land for too long.. I told them I accepted, but no festivity at the site, I was adamant about it. I will drive away the demons myself.
I told them to forget it and just roof the damn house, it's enough money being paid to Omonile, and then have a party too.. Forget it.

It's not a bad idea to invite your parents and siblings one weekend. You don't have to kill a ram or goat.

For me, it's more like celebrating completion of the project. Perhaps more relevant if it's your first house and you're just moving in.

A pastor's prayer is not bad either.

Don't forget there are millions not able to afford one. One has to be grateful.

Bros just call your pastor with one or two trusted friends and close family members, make madam cook good food for your invited gust, pray in the house and move in
