A technician(should I say a mechanic rather) came around and showed me an advert that he places a device in d engine of cars which would help to improve fuel economy by about 30 percent. I was contemplating on installing it on my corolla 2004 ( average fuel consumption is about 15km for a litre of petrol) but on a second thought, what could be d adverse effect of this on ones engine. Pls house ur contributions are needed.tanks

I dont know about the device but I bought a magic tablet pack from a Nairalander sometime back,I'm yet to notice any negative effect on the engine so far.
I usually put a tab or two tabs into my fuel tank and that does the magic.

Thanks sir, he is yet to fix it in my car so I don't have a picture yet . that was why I was asking if devices placed in cars for improve its efficiency would on d long run have a negative effect on d car's engine performanace. If am adviced otherwise I wud jolly well forfeit the idea all together

Most of these so called fuel savers are waste of money. They haven't really been proven, though I don't know which particular one u are talking about. If 1L of fuel gives u 15km, that means u average 150km with 10L. That is a really good mpg and I see no reason u should be installing any fuel saver.

if any of such devices were benefial to the engine long term...I tell u most car manufacturers would incorporate them in their design from factory........too little fuel entering the combustion chamber of ur car causes as much damage as too much fuel....so guys be wise!!!
