The acclaimed arrested observers who had been released ahead of Anambra elections are bonafide and accredited observers for the upcoming 2013 gubernatorial election coming up in Anambra State.

In a statement released by the INEC Electoral Commissioner of the State; Prof. Onukogu, the arrested observers were released because of their neutrality as bonafide and INEC accredited observers for Anambra gubernatorial elections coming up on Saturday.

Onukogu also warned the mischief makers to stop playing politics with the reality of elections.

Also; Nick Dazang, Head of INEC Publicity Division of the commission has stated that the commission will not take it lightly with anyone that is playing with the intelligence of the personnel of the commission.

He said election would take place in all the 21 local government areas with a total of 1,784,506 registered voters.
For the election, the commission said that the state has a total number of 4,608 polling units and 326 registration areas. Also, Anambra State has 120 Super Registration Centres (RACs) and 6,851 Voting Points.

Dazang said INEC will be deploying 12,622 election officials (permanent and ad hoc) to conduct the election

smh...I thought dey said dey were apc members?... I saw a thread a guy made stating he was offered cash...some Nigerians are plain daft....ranting shit about apc without knowing d main facts...basing dere judgements on rumours.... anambra should just vote wisely...simple

if this actually came from INEC then we'll have to take their word as gospel. But what i want to know is if they were truly found with pump actions like alleged cos i don't understand what election observers and weapons have in common. Are they there to observe a war or what? #JustAsking

The pump action as was reported belongs to IMO security who I guess were escorting them. Either the CP was being skeptical or he was playing pranks

I know many who are quick to believe the Nigerian police account of the incident will soon eat their words. Nigerian police are very unreliable, manipulative and unprofessional. I'll rather believe the devil than to believe the Nigerian police.
